This article inspire me to post something I read before:

"LEADERSHIP IS ALL ABOUT PAINTING THE VISION, GIVING PEOPLE SOMETHING WORTHWHILE TO FOLLOW"

There is to often a disconnect between:

Coaches and kids.
Coaches and parents.
Parents and kids.
Coaches and administrators.
Administrators and parents.

THEY ARE ALL INVOLVED IN THE SAME PROGRAM BUT OFTEN NOT ON THE SAME PAGE.

Why? Due to lack of a shared and articulated vision.

A good coach does not only win Championships but helps to develop the sport and the team and more than anything lead the swimmers to their maximum human potential and personal development.

Vision is critical but selling it is as important as seeing it. This will help to change children lives not just in the pool, their success will be use by them in their future professions.

That should be the true vision of a serious coach. When we employed them without character and vision we do an injustice to our kids for the rest of their lives.

"So far we are blessed with good coaches"
