Subject: How can a dancer dance solo's at "O" if they are using a 1st in Trad Set as the 1st earned in hard shoe in PZ.. The "O" syllabus states a 1st needed in HP or TJ. Can you file a complaint? Some schools are allowing this

If they place, clearly they're ready.

I'd be more concerned about placing prelims in Trad Set

[> Subject: Unbelievable that two replies are DEFENDING this practice. Shame on you. NE region has its issues but we are one of the most legit in the US but you are helping to perpetuate corruption with your devil may care attitudes.

[> [> Subject: I agree with you that nobody should be defending cheaters. I must disagree however when you say NE is one of the most legit regions. I see it as perhaps the least legit region of all, since it has such a well known and documented high tolerance for cheating by dancers, teachers and even judges.

[> Subject: Hi- a small voy board lesson. This thread makes me suspect you are the same person responding to yourself; or, there are a lot of newbies all responding to the same message. For those who don't know, if all your message fits in the subject box, you can leave the message box blank. Putting a single letter or period in the message box - which makes us click on the link to see more of the comment- is not necessary and is a wee bit annoying to those reading your messages.

[> Subject: Not defending this; however, the TC is at liberty to enter the dancer. The OP may not know ALL the facts and is only going by hearsay and it could be a proper entry. OP leaves out the age, too, which can also be a factor. Wouldn't chastise, because dancing at the O's doesn't change the level

If the TC enters the dancer, then that's it - nothing more can be done by another parent.

What is more frightening about the post is the fact the OP seems to know more about the dancer, who is in grades, and is perfectly fine with spouting off about a dancer (child) like this.

Who knows? Not all grades' levels results are reported and it is very possible that the OP has no clue what has been achieved.

In the end, don't worry about what others are doing, worry about your own dancers.

(just remember, those dancers whose TC entered them into the NANS without the requirements, basically quit dancing within a few short months. So, don't sweat it, what goes around will come around)

[> [> Subject: Many people know their competitors' results these days as kids use social media to share them. Everybody in dd's dance class knows who has the required firsts and who doesn't. In the case that you reference, it was the unqualified girls themselves who spread the word that they didn't have the firsts but were still doing NANS. They did not all quit within a few short months as you state. At least two continued to compete at the O and NANS for years.
