We are familiar with many of the dance schools near Boston, but not near the North Shore. Could use some help because our TC is even less familiar with the region. Thank you in advance!

[> Subject: Marblehead/Swampscott area is tough for Irish Dancers as it's a commute just to get out of town. Bracken has a single class in a Beverly location I think but is located in Salisbury. Most WQ level dancers from Marblehead have either headed North to Murray Academy or to the bigger schools south or around Boston - Brady in Quincy, Kenny in Canton, OSC around the Boston area. Smaller options on the North Shore are Goulding and Heavey-Quinn.

You really need to know where your home base is and how far you're willing to travel. Then look at each school's schedule closely if possible, because some have multiple locations yet don't hold the right classes in the locations nearest you.

Also, talk to your TC to find out what to look for and ask of the new school to find the best fit for your dancer. Some of those schools with many WQ are very large and might not be what you're looking for; on the other hand it might be just the right fit. Good luck and welcome to MA!

[> Subject: North of Boston, Murray is the best by far! They are in NH Seacoast area but have so many great dancers at every level and many world recallers/WMH each year.

[> Subject: Keane Obrien has a school on the North shore (N.Reading) however they have recently lost a bunch of students to transfers. I would inquire before giving them consideration. O’Shea Chaplain is amazing and highly recommended as my 2 older children started with them before we moved. Best of luck in your search.
