Subject: Review of double fees weekend, for what it's worth. Clann Lir feis--extremely well organized. Results were super fast. Loved the medal round "medals" (black tape with a cute ribbon/sticker). Very useful (Reminds me of McInerney's shoe horn medals). MORE INSIDE

Loved that they had sashes for all placers. My DD is a "sometimes" OC placer, but rarely on podium so has very few sashes. Before this weekend, only Dunleavy Boyle did all-placement sashes. We love them. Would make us return to this feis again and again. The New England regional feis was back to sashes for only top three. And regular medals. In terms of the second feis, this venue is infinitely nicer than Saugus high school (Sorry Saugus!). We danced in Breton yesterday and Ballroom A today. Loved that Breton was set up in landscape mode and Ballroom A was "portrait mode," if you get my drift. Ballroom A was seriously a fire hazard. No-one could get in or out. WAY too crowded. We loved Clann Lir's feis. Would come back in a heart beat. If it remains a double feis weekend, we will do both. But two things might prevent us from doing that: first, the food in the venue was outrageously expensive. I mean outrageously. So, unless you want to get in a car and go downtown, it's going to cost A LOT. I know that the organizers have no say over that. No critique to them. Just a comment on whether we would do two nights there. Second, I love the idea of sharing judges between two feises. Makes sense. But, two of our three judges today were repeats from yesterday. When we have done double feis weekends in other regions they have always ensured that judges don't judge the same competitions. (We are in open). I know we were not promised this, but we were slightly disappointed.

[> Subject: A totally positive experience. All of us at our school hope the venue remains the same - even though Saugus is closer. Clan Lirr did an amazing job and NERF is always a fav - but definitely better being in Newport. :). Thank you to all the organizers!

We had a great time this weekend. Absolutely loved our double feis weekend. Thank you to all who organized the two days of events. We hope to see this weekend on the schedule for next year. We normally do not do the NE Irish Dance Teacher Feis. We did it this year because it was part of a double feis weekend in a great location. We will be back if it doubles again next year.

[> Subject: While most of the day was good, the start of the day was rough. The ballrooms were incrediably crowded with no crowd control plans in place. The stages were slow, at one point they had three stages waiting for hard shoe and two back to back soft shoes on stage 1.Why it did not dawn on the organizer to move the soft shoe and run them at the sametime is beyond me. They need to look at how they handle those first of the day competitions. It was hard for the little ones.

Saturday or Sunday?

The grades room was on or ahead of schedule all day Saturday.

I had two kids dancing in grades and we almost missed one of their comps because everything was starting early.

[> [> Subject: "The" day? It was a 2-day feis. One day was Clann Lir's fist time hosting a feis, and both days it was a new venue. Cut them a little slack. Yeesh, it's a wonder anybody even bothers to put on a feis anymore.
