Subject: I get this argument (we've been give it enough, after all), but what I don't get is why MAR has been able to overcome the venue issue and other issues you mention. The disparity between the two regions has yet to be explained--and the answer cannot be because MAR parents are harder working than NER parents.

In reply to: longtime feis volunteer 's message, "Here's the thing. I'm just a mom who volunteers on the feis committee for our school's multiple feiseanna every year. We weren't able to hold any of our feiseanna in 2020 and 2021 isn't looking promising. Some venues (inside)" on 10:42:15 03/20/21 Sat

At least you can travel out of region to feis right? I don’t see that it’s up to the board to get schools to host it would be up to each school. If the board is not allowing the feis that is something else altogether. We aren’t allowed gatherings where I am at the moment and even when we could last fall we had nothing...I think Eastern Canada had one feis last fall, Western Canada nothing, US Pacific Northwest (where we used to drive to compete) nothing ... Western Region is huge and yes some parts have comps and some don’t. I truly understand the frustration seeing other areas with comps and even O’s...At the end of the day plan your feis if your school wants and it’s not restricted due to covid, if your board says no at that point take issue.

Nobody owes it to you to host one for you. Ours has chosen not to run any right now. This is why I don't complain about others not hosting.
