With feises costing as much as they do now, we would like to decide between Lenihan and Bracken, but not both. We would like to choose the one that is most competitive for Oireachtas. The fact that we cannot even get a sense of whether there will be 5 or 15 or 25 in my dd's comp is a bit frustrating. If there are fewer than 4 boys, they are going to combine boys and girls (even in OC). I'd love to know that. It is all so "non transparent" as the buzzword is these days.

My daughter danced at the last Lenihan in April and said she will not go back. The stages were a mess, they mixed AB U10 & U11 for SOME steps but not all, didn't say anything, just put my kid in some of the AB U11 numbered dances and others AB U10 (super confusing) and did some U11 and U12 between dances (so not the 3 softs, switch age groups, it was literally reel U10, reel U11, reel U12, etc) and it took forever. My daughter was so beat after switching to a completely different stage for just hornpipe and dancing on and off for the better part of 2 hours that she didn't even want to go see her marks because she knew she wasn't dancing at her best toward the end. A few girls were in tears.

If you have to choose, I will tell you we LOVED Bracken last Nov, even if they started late due to someone fainting on one of the stages.
