Hi Karen,
I know all to well what you are going through. Thus far Hep C has cost my job, my family, and most of my friends. Those that remain by my side are sympathetic but they are few in number. I was diagnosed in 97 and have been through treatment twice. Right now I am in a group for people who do not respond to the interferon/Riboviren, so I sit waiting to see if they wish to risk the expensive treatments or if they will let it go for liver transplant. I have not developed cirrosis yet. I can only say keep reaching out there are some compassionate individuals out there, they are just few and far between. We are all in this together.
Yours,
Steve

>-Hello Karen. I found out I have Hep C last Feb. I was devasted. I just want to give you some encouragement. I have found the best thing for me has been no alcohol in any form, not even food or over the counter drugs. A diet full of fresh veges and lean meats and lots of water. The diet is surprising like a diabetic diet, sugar is very hard on the liver so I limit my intake of sugar, especially refined sugar like high frutose corn surayp. I would be glad to share emails with you to help with the encouraging thing. I know how you feel about the isolation thing. Some of my friends are totally freaked out by this. They are afraid they will catch it from me somehow.
