Karen:
I feel very bad about your situation. I know exactly how
you feel. We're in the same boat. I've had C since 1978,
maybe earlier. 8/28/78 is when I received blood because of
a motorcycle accident. Harleys don't stand a chance against
a truck. So, besides breaking everything, I guess that is
when I contracted this "thing." I'm alone too. I live in the East Bay. Oakley, off hwy 4. I know quite a bit about
this, since I've been listed at Stanford Medical Center since late '99. Such as: don't eat any salt. You'll feel
much better. Read all labels at the store. You can only
eat items that have 3% or 4% sodium. Ice cream works.
You need to be taking water pills like lasix &/or aldactone
to stop bloating. Lachulose to have more frequent bowel
movements so you won't be dizzy and confused from too much
ammonia in your blood. DON'T STRESSSSSSSS OUT! It will not
help and it will make everything worse. You probably already know all this stuff. If you want to talk, I'm at
mvwnow@aol.com or (925) 755-8060, or, I'd call you if I had
the #.
Dr. Carlos Esquivel is at Stanford. He originated the liver
transplant operation in the early '80s. He's done 1500 now.
I don't know where you are being treated.
You're not alone anymore Karen.
Michael
please send a photo so I know who I'm talking to, I can
do the same if you like.
