Get tested. If you're positive, you can make lifestyle changes--not to drink alcohol among other things--that can delay actually getting sick for a long time. I was diagnosed over 4 years ago, and all my liver tests are still coming back normal. I'm too healthy to be a good candidate for treatment, a situation that is weird, encouraging, and frustrating all at once. Maybe by the time I actually do need treatment, it will have evolved to a place where it isn't as intense as it is now. You can have a relatively normal life, but you need to be smart and protect yourself and others.
