I have no idea what the letters stand for, but it it was me would ask for some rig checks from someone with a rig with plenty of channels.
Like the ranger 2950 superstar 3900 etc.
Cb around here is quite dead nowdays, i been playing with cb since 1981 and had a lot of fun on there.
Im now a licenced ham and now spend most of my time on there, although i do actually have a little 40 channel rig.
As you said cb is quite dead where you are, i would try getting myself up on a hill to extend the range a bit.
