Hi lads and ladies of course.
Well im steve and been into radio since before cb was legalised in the eighties.
When the skip was really rolling in back then i worked the states more times that i can remember and most of the planet....
My rig of choice back then was the old faithfull cobra 148 Gtldx, alongside various amps, brl200 , brL 210, and in my opinios the better zetagi b300p.
I since had various other ssb radios including two or three ranger 2950.
I took the amater exam about 3 years back and now i have a yaesu 897d.
I still have an old cb radio its an old commtron lol i was given it by a friend a few weeks back.
Even though range is quite limited on 446 i still enjoy using it, the other day i walked up our hill and spoke to the other half all the way to the supermarket, its about 5 miles away by road.
I got as much pleasure from that as working scotland on the yaesu.
I now have to be 100% legit being licenced, but can tell you that the quansheng radios on e bay work very well on 446.
High power around 5 w low i believe is 1w.
I am experimenting with 446 at the moment with my new dog, ha ha yes you read right my dog.
We have only had her a short time and as she ran off one day am going to try using a radio on a harnes to try to stop her going out of hearshot.
