Would you happen to be a painter? I grew up on the island during the summer and I'm looking for a painting of the light house on Sany Point. I'd love to give it to my dad for Christmas. His family owned a home on the island and even though it has been sold and we havne' been back for many years, the island still has a place in our hearts. Anyway, thank you for your time. Date Posted: 09/ 1/09 1:04:58am Despite what our animal loving artist friend says, there really isn't any camping on the island and there are no facilities for campers. No campground, no water, no public toilets etc. There is also no public transport, no restaurants etc. The obvious place to camp would be the park on the southern part of the island but that is a State Park which specifically prohibits camping. Much of the island is conservation land which is generally wooded and overgrown with briar so not optimal for camping. Sure someone could bring light camping equipment over on the ferry and use a bike for transport but it would hardly be a relaxing experience. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
