Hi Rachel - My brother and sisters and I bought the house from your grandmother in 1997. It is a busy place in July and August as we all take turns spending our vacations there. Send me your direct Email address and I will send you some pictures and we can figure out how you might arrange to visit. - Ann Marie

Hi Ann Marie. Thanks so much for responding to my post. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about the Island and all the fun I had there. That would be great for you to send me some pictures. I would love to get back to the island one day, but not sure when it would happen. Has the island built up much? Do you know if Mr. Cannario still has his little store?(Or maybe somebody has taken it over?) I used to buy all of my candy there when I was little. I hope to be in touch with you again.

Mr. Canario's store is no longer, after his wife passed the store didn't last much longer.

He is still around, you can catch him monitoring the dump or the ferry dock during hunting season.

BOY RACHEL, I REMEMBER THAT ALSO, GOING THERE AND GETTING CANDY AND THEN WALKING AROUND MR CANARIOS YARD READING ALL HIS BIRD HOUSE SIGNS AND PETTING HIS ANIMALS, THE GOATS, RABBITS, AND ALSO WE CAN'T FORGET HIS CHICKENS AND ROOSTERS. I REMEMBER HEARING HIS ROOSTER CROW IN THE MORNING FROM MY BED NOT TO FAR FROM THE STORE. MY FAMILY AND I ARE GOING THERE NEXT WEEK 8/4/06 TO 8/11/06, THAT WILL BE THE FIRST TIME BACK THERE IN SAY 15 TO 20 YEARS. OTHER THAN THE OCCASIONAL DAY TRIP TO DRIVE AROUND THE ISLAND FOR THE DAY.
