I have been waiting for someone to post their 'zine' stories so I could comment.

I really enjoyed this. It was a neat look into Michael's life. This paragraph:

In truth he didn't really care one way or the other, but when they'd developed the profile for this mission, years ago now, Madeline told them to be as specific as possible. Morning rituals are usually highly developed, even for men. And time had made this truth for him, as he dutifully drank a glass of orange juice every morning he woke up in this suburban house. Section had created the profile, had made a personality out of a list of likes and dislikes, but now Elena maintained it, reinforcing this inventory of carefully orchestrated choices that substituted for a human being.

was my favorite and I think you hit on some important, and very truthful, insights.
