Subject: Our shelter kitty died this morning

He had been ours for barely two weeks and we had him at home for three or four days before he went to the vet. The vet said he was happily eating chicken when he collapsed and died. The vet and staff knew him better than we did ...but she didn't call me, called Ian and he can't use his cell phone when he's at work. Just got the news.

He says the vet is pretty sad about it too. I've lost both of my white kitties now and William is in heart failure, but kind of stabilized.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do now. Technically, I think the shelter will let us adopt another one for free, but that's not really what we want. I'm not sure what I want other than to have Spike come home and for this one to have lived.
