One Tuesday he was very, very bad. He was barely able to stand and his breathing was about 4 times the normal rate. So we started syringe feeding him just to make him a little more comfortable until we could get to the vet.

He has improved so much since then, but he's not eating on his own and we probably need to buy some concentrated food if he is going to live on force feeding. He seems to have a head cold now too ...makes it even harder.

I hope the vet will see things clearer. For us, the improvement is so dramatic we can no longer say for sure what is the best for him. He's still a very sick and frail kitty, but he improving and not in decline. His respiration is normal and he's responding to touch, moving about when he wants ...although it is mostly through sheer will. He even made a go at cleaning his face after I gave him his meds this morning.
