Subject: Congratulations to Miss HI Teen USA :) Author: x [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 16:55:10 03/13/06 Mon Hannah Thomas Named Miss Hawaii Teen USA 2006 Hannah Keikiokanani Thomas was crowned Miss Hawaii Teen USA 2006 on Sunday, March 12, 2006 in front more than 500 people at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel. “I just looked at all of my friends and family and kind of looked at them like no way! Can you believe this?” said Hannah after hearing her name called as the winner. “But I was just happy because I knew they were all proud of me.” Hannah, 17, is a junior at Kamehameha Schools. She is the daughter of Jan and Robert Thomas. Her hobbies include surfing, bodysurfing, singing, playing guitar, kayaking and playing water polo. Her favorite actor is Mike Meyers and her favorite musician is Jack Johnson. Interesting facts about Hannah: -She enters and places in bodysurfing contests. -She enjoys writing and singing her own music. -She has worn heels only four other times before this pageant. -She is the director of communications in Student Leadership for her junior class. -She’s been studying the Hawaiian language for five years. -She had the rare opportunity to stay on the island of Kahoolawe with other members of her class. Sixteen contestants competed for the Miss Hawaii Teen USA 2006 title. The pageant consists of a judges interview, swimsuit phase and evening gown phase. Semi-finalists are given an on-stage question. This year's Miss Hawaii Teen USA winner will receive an academic scholarship, cash awards and various prizes from pageant sponsors. The pageant winner will also move on to compete at Miss Teen USA which is televised on NBC. Past Miss Hawaii Teen USA title holders include Hollywood actress Kelly Hu, international model Aureana Tseu, and model/actress Sonya Balmores. The Miss Hawaii Teen USA pageant is independently produced by executive directors Eric Chandler and Takeo of 2Couture International Management. It's not bashing to give an opinion. I can see your point if people were discriminating or being extremely hateful, but we're giving our thoughts and views on who we thought should've won and why.
