We were staying at the Mad Moose Lodge in Montreal River but it has since gone bankrupt due to poor management. Although it was a cheap and inexpensive place to hang out, the ice was so so. We have tried the ice near batchawana Bay and it is higher, closer and not as many folks climb there. Local Guide and ice climbing developer Shaun of North of Superior Climbing in Batchawana has snowmobile shuttles to all areas. Their website is www.northofsuperiorclimbing.com
