Hi my daughter is now 23 but I had the same problem as you in primary, so my daughter and I came up with the agreement that we would only learn one spelling and forget about the rest and if she got that right then she had got full marks and was rewarded by me and to forget about the teacher's punishment as between her and me it didn't matter we had this secret agreement. As she got more and more confident we increased it to 2 words. She has now got a 1st class degree. I came to the conclusion that you are never going to get every teacher to understand what the problem is so you and your child put in your own targets I always told my daughter that dyslexia was a reason why she found things harder than her friends but it wasn't an excuse she just had to work that much harder to get to the same place.
