Hello. I'm pleased to hear that you are interested in becoming a T.A. and yes I agree its difficult deciding which. Part of my role is student coordinator, the most popular course is D.C.E.(diploma in childcare) lev 1,2,3.
For work within a school you would need at least lev.3.
I trained several years ago, part-time (fam. conmmitts)
through a local college consortium, going to classes 1 morning per week along side part job in a play group. There are some taster weeks around also, usually run through the local community or school. A current student has just completed the taster course and college have taken her onto D.C.E. Lev.3 So you see that you do'nt have to start at lev.1. This course enables practioners to work with pupils upto 16. I hope this helps a little. I'm sure you'll find it is a rewarding job.
