Subject: George Becker

To my grandfather's shipmates, I wanted to let you all know that Chief George Becker who was a crew member on all 7 patrols on the Batfish has passed away. Cancer finally claimed his life in December 2005. I just wanted to pass this along to all his crewmates as his 21 plus years in the Navy were the best years of his life and he truly enjoyed and was proud to serve his country. He kept a "memorial" wall with all the accomplishments of the Batfish and pictures of reunions and such. I loved to hear him tell stories about his service. At your next reunion, please remember he will always be there in spirit.
