There are as many if not more cars now than at the beginning of the season.If you have been at the races you would have seen the carnage(Thornton fire,Esner fire,Wheat Intake ejection and motor meltdown on car #2,Lindsey motor toasted,Martone Rods exit one race fixed came back and spun car into guard rail hitting all four corners,Fernando and Corey wheat collide and damage both cars having to miss races,) these are just a few thing sthat have happened that have affected car count this season.It is common knowledge that fuel costs have hurt alot of these teams wallets which also keeps teams from going outside their home tracks if you will.If you are a fan you will help support the racers that you like to watch in continuing to come out and watch even in these hard times .We have been really fortunate in the years past to have as many cars able to travel as we are all so used to.I am sure you can understand that money is getting harder to come by and it affects everyone the same.read on> -- Texas King of the Hill Message Board

I we do this for fun and entertainment ,If the bills are getting tight what sacrifices would you have to make first? I assure you there isnt a racer out there that would rather be anywhere but the track if their $ allows.

Sorry ran out of room.KOTH is still a class of plenty.The cars are either in repair or sidelined waiting on either the economy to change or weather for some .There is allways room for more cars and there are still several new cars @ chassis shops waiting to be finished. I am sure there will be more races where we have to cut down to an 8 car field because there arent enough cars to make it a 16 car field .I knew it was gonna be a rough year when we had the US outlaw race for $20,000.and only 22 cars could make the show. - I'm working on mine as hard as i can, there is light at the end of the tunnel, but it is a LOT of work to build and maintain one of these cars. I am coming up on 3 years and I thought it wouldn't take more than 1 year at the most. Car counts are down in all types of racing, this is due to the economy, but KOTH I think it's like Matt says, when you race you tear some shit up and it takes time to get things rolling again. -- Danny Humphreys, 16:04:04 07/24/08 Thu
