    Beginning 5/29, and every Friday before we have a heads-up feature, NSD will be running a test session from 11am to 4pm. The session will be open for the first 10 drivers/cars that reserve a spot and will cost $100. The track will be fully prepped and EMT will be on site. All drivers and crew will be welcome to stay and race during our Friday Night Fun n Grudge for no additional charge.

    All cars must be cars feature-type cars and have slicks or drag radials. No street tires. At least 4 cars must be reserved by the Wednesday of that week, or the test session will be canceled.

    To reserve your spot, call the track at (940) 482-9998 or email me at nicduty@aol.com. Remember, this is the first 10 cars with $100 that want to test, so if you are interested, please respond quickly.

    Ok, was not going to say anything about it but since the story has been leaked (so to say) I will. Yes, it is true Jeff had a accident with a saw on Sunday. We went to the ER & then he was transported to Herman Hospital. There we made the decision to have 1/2 of the finger removed as the rehab would have been 8-10 months with no guarantees that he would be able to use the hand after the rehab. That was the deciding factor as he has to have his hand working. All I can say is I have a pretty tough ole guy...he didnt take anything for pain for 6 hours !!! Oh and I might add he was out of the hospital Monday night & I will let ya'll guess when he went back to work !!! LOL

    Just got off the phone with Dallas Raceway and they are having their first race Friday, May 15th. IHRA is coming out the 12th and 13th to prep the track for the national event on Memorial Day weekend. They are opening the track for testing on Thursday May 14th for free. gates open at 5 pm

    Congrats to Tom and team and their win at TXR. Don't get too comfy at the top of the hill. Someone is waiting to knock you off. We will be drawing for a set of M/T 10.5w's this weekend. We'll draw a # between 1& 16 before qualifying and whoever winds up in that spot, gets a new set of 10.5's courtesy of Mickey Thompson!! KOTH is also putting up $100 for the #13 qualifier of the race. Gates open at 1 and first round of qualifying is at 3pm, so come on out and see who takes out that blue mustang!

    When and where is the next race. Who going to be in the running to win this next one? Is it a nitrous cars turn? Will the turbo cars rule again? Or will it be one of those pesky blower cars pulling it off. With Kenny's performance jumping up and Danny back to whip Nick into shape, you never know. I guess we'll all have to wait and see.

  • I'm alive and well here in Sanger.Mom and Dad both battling cancer, been spending more time with the family . I was @ TXR Friday night and saw alot of good racing . I believe the class is headed right , the fastest three were within two hundredths of eachother (Blown-NOS-Turbo) awesome times for all. I need someone with a body shop that needs to get their name out there to do some paint and body repairs to Barney..Anyone know anyone like that?   • Ok I was talking to a friend and we were discussing the tree, a few years back they changed to the LED bulbs and the reaction times went to (on a pro-tree) .000 was perfect it was .400 with the old style lights. He didnt want to hear it and looked it up on NHRA.com and sent me the following copied and pasted from the NHRA site.     These contests are started by means of an electronic device commonly called a Christmas Tree because of its multicolored starting lights. On each side of the Tree are seven lights: two small amber lights at the top of the fixture, followed in descending order by three larger LED lights, a green bulb, and a red bulb.

    Two light beams cross the starting-line area and connect to trackside photocells, which are wired to the Christmas Tree and electronic timers in the control tower. When the front tires of a vehicle break the first light beam, called the pre-stage beam, the pre-stage light on the Christmas Tree indicates that the racer is approximately seven inches from the starting line.

    When the racer rolls forward into the stage beam, the front tires are positioned exactly on the starting line and the stage bulb is lit on the Tree, which indicates that the vehicle is ready to race. When both vehicles are fully staged, the starter will activate the Tree, and each racer will focus on the three large amber lights on his or her side of the Tree.

    Depending on the type of racing, all three large amber lights will flash simultaneously, followed four-tenths of a second later by the green light (called a Pro Tree), or the three bulbs will flash consecutively five-tenths of a second apart, followed five-tenths later by the green light (called a Sportsman, or full, Tree).

    this is the first chance i've had to be on the computer since fri night . I understand people think I was in toms pit "crying" the only reason I went down there was to congratulate them on the win. I spoke to 3 people in Toms pit that I consider good friends. I trust it wasn't any of them running there mouth on this board . They know they can call me anytime.
    I also understand that tom and others may feel like I was trying to burn him down on the tree. I Assure you that it doesn't matter who or what kind of vehicle is in the other lane I follow my normal routine. By the way I have 7 seconds to pull into the stage beams, by my count I was in approx. 4.5 to 5 seconds.

    The points need to be calculated differently. Not 100 per round won, but 400 if you win, 300 for runner up, 200 if you loose at 4 cars, 100 if you loose at 8 cars. The way it is, we ran a 16 car show at Odessa with 11 cars because that's what they wanted. Hargett runnered up and got 810 points with double points. Darrin qualified #2 Friday runnered up and has 340 points (single points). That would have been 680 if it was double points. We should not be penalized points wise because Kennedale wants to run a 8 car field and Odessa wants to run a 16. Malouf should get 520, Wade should get 440, Williams should get 230, Hargett should get 205, Kenny should get 250, Brantley should get 300 and Chris Adams should get 310. Chris Shortridge should have teching in and qualifying points for both of the races. Just my .02

    Basically, I don't think the racers should be penalized because less cars show up. It's not the racers fault other guys don't show up.
