WHY IS IT THAT JAMAICA STOP SENDING THEIR DELEGATES TO
MISS INTERNATIONAL?
ALSO THEY HAVE NEVER TRIED SENDING A DELEGATE TO MISS EARTH.

SANDRA FOSTER WAS THE LAST GIRL TO ENTER ANOTHER PAGEANT OTHER THAN THE "BIG TWO" (MISS WORLD, MISS UNIVERSE)
SHE WAS MISS INTERCONTINENTAL 1990.

I AM IMPLORING TO ORGANIZERS, TO SEND EITHER NATALIA CASADO OR LEANNA PRENDERGHAST TO ONE OF THESE PAGEANTS.
THEY WOULD DO YOUR COUNTRY PROUD.

MISS JAMAICA WORLD 2004 -- MARIO from Miami, 15:02:09 09/10/04 Fri [1]

IT SEEMS LIKE MANY OF THE PEOPLE POSTING COMMENTS ABOUT WHO SHOULD WIN DO NOT WATCH INTERNATIONAL PAGEANTS CLOSELY.
THE STANDARDS OF INTERNATIONAL BEAUTY PAGEANTS ARE HIGH.
SO, IN THAT LIGHT WE HAVE TO CHOOSE A GIRL FROM THE BEAUTIFUL REGGAE ISLAND THAT POSSESS THE QUALITIES OF A BEAUTY QUEEN.THIS NEW QUEEN MUST BE ABLE TO COMPETE STRONGLY WITH TOP BEAUTIES, LIKE PUERTO RICO,INDIA,BELGIUM,
SOUTH AFRICA,VENEZUELA AND TANZANIA.

AFTER VIEWING ALL PICTURES OF THE GIRLS IN THIS YEARS MISS JAMAICA WORLD,AND READING ARTICLES ABOUT THEM.THESE FOUR GIRLS ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT HAS SOMETHING SPECIAL.

1. JORDANNE HALSALL-
This contestant will represent the island very well. She has beauty of face, body, beautiful skin tone and seems very intelligent.very poise too.she is 5'9', and has beautiful figure.
2.ERIN MITCHELL-
This girl has a beautiful skin tone.beautiful hair, and well educated.she photographs well in some pictures.but this is due to the fact that the pics are not professionally done.she has the hieght factor has well.

3. TONOYA TOYLOY-
She is the most beautiful black looking girl i have seen entered this countries pageant since cathy levy.In 2002 leanna prenderghast was a beauty too,but she was too short.
Tonoya has the height, intelligence, experience working with people and beautiful beach body.she looks like a model.5'9'

4. CAROLYNN YAPP
This girl is the prettiest contestant of the bunch. She photographs really well. But, seems too reserved for me.she could do well at miss international.she stands at 5'8'so she should be elegant.she is smart and has a beach body.

THE OTHER GIRLS THAT FOLLOWS CLOSE BEHIND ARE:
ELMERETTA BANKSIGHN, LINDA HUDSON,CHANTELL LEE SIGH,TRACY DAWKINS,ALICIA SOOMAN,AND CANDACE THORBOURNE

I'm quite disappointed on the poor quality that Interlinc has given the all the contestants except their representative, Ms Tiffany Holman. It's not fair that all the ladies video clips is fuzzy except her's. That is a unacceptable way to sway votes for their girl. It doesn't give the viewers a clear picture on how to vote for the other women competing in the pageant. The board of directors for Miss Jamaica World should look into this matter and force Interlinc to make corrective actions. I feel sorry for the other girls, they are being cheated out of fair votes. If anyone else shares my views please let me know.

>>>I do agree. The profile pics are very small and every pic that you see of the contestants, unless they are wearing their sashes, you cannot identify them. The overseas voters cannot accurately vote because we do not know what these women trully look like. The photo gallery might have helped but that is not yet available 2 days before the finals. With the impending threat of an hurricane, I wish them the best of luck. I trully think this hurricane is for real!!!

[> Oh!! for a Real Beauty Contest -- Mark Wignall, 11:58:56 08/30/04 Mon [1]

Oh for a real beauty contest

Mark Wignall:

"I was only about 12 or 13 when I saw my first beauty queen. She was Carol Joan Crawford, Miss Jamaica, who had just won the Miss World title in 1963. My parents had taken me downtown to enjoy the Independence float parade and she was a part of it.

There she was, slowly waving her hand, a cute little white woman, a smile etched on her face but yet looking slightly scared or just wishing she was at her home in upper St Andrew taking tea or an afternoon glass of lemonade.

Apart from my 84 year-old father, no one is more a fan of beautiful women than me. From my mother to my five sisters to my ex-wife to my girlfriend and all the others who came in between, I have been surrounded by beautiful women all my life. And yet I have never been a fan of beauty contests.

As they are made up now, beauty contests can't quite decide whether they exist to create envy in other women or give lecherous men thoughts to torture them at nights. In one moment these contests are into raw flesh, then in the next, the pretence is made that each girl must have a mini-thesis floating in her head.

'So, tell me Miss Goat Island, should you win the Miss World contest, what would your main focus be?' Smiling, she takes the microphone then moves her facial muscles to show a look of deep concern. 'The children, oh the children. I would go to Africa, especially the Sudan, and I would preach out against hate, disease, war, famine. I would start a campaign to end the trials and tribulations faced by the poor, unfortunate children of the world.'
'Thank you, Miss Goat Island'.

What my mythical Miss Goat Island really means is, 'I am looking for a rich husband and this is just my way of parading my 'skills' before the rich, the famous and the lecherous'.
Which brings me to the present set of beautiful girls competing for the Miss Jamaica World 2004 crown. The first word that comes to mind after perusing their pictures is 'regional'. Why?

Simple. They look as if most of them originate from the regions of Kingston 6 and 8. Maybe I am nitpicking, but somehow when I look at their pictures, I am convinced that this beauty contest is an uptown thing, a middle-class thing where the girls resemble those who shop at Sovereign on a Sunday.

It is obvious that 'uptownish' girls have long taken over the contest because we can't afford to have a drop-dead black beauty or a 'bleached browning' from Rema or Gimme Mi Bit who went to all-age school going to the Miss World contest and, during the interview, 'bigging up' all her friends and family back home. Yu dun know!

The idea is, the girls must have 'brains' and more than the ability to string two words together. My suggestion is, we should have a real beauty contest. Forget about the brain and the gift of standard English gab. Let us just deal with black, brown, white, Chinese, Indian flesh, shape and facial beauty.

'So tell me, Miss Lime Key, if you should win and go on to the Miss World contest, what would you tell them about Jamaica?'

She giggles. 'Yu mean me. Well, I woulda tell dem all 'bout wi. Like all de nice tings 'bout our country, de rum, de ganja and all like our national flower, counter flour. How wi love it and it full wi belly easy.'
'Well said, Miss Lime Key.'

In such a contest we would only have to worry about the winner when she reaches the Miss World contest and we all have to turn down the television when it is her turn to speak. In the interim though, we would have a lot of fun.

'Miss Lemon Lock , if you should win the Miss Jamaica contest and go on to the Miss World contest, what would you tell dem, er, them about Jamaica?'

'Who, me? Mi nuh have nutten fi tell dem! Mi woulda just show dem some moves.' She places one hand at the back of her neck and does a few quick 'jooks' then moves into a slow grind. The crowd goes wild. 'Yu wan some more?' she shouts. They scream.

First prize in that contest would be one year's supply of bleaching agents and six months' supply of dancehall bling bling. Throw in six cases of Red Label wine and Lotto tickets worth $10,000 over the next year and everyone will be happy.

When Cindy Breakspeare won the Miss World contest in 1976, I fell in love with her briefly. Then Bob Marley stole her from me. The problem was, I could get the lyrics right, but I fell far short on handling the chalice.

I have never been able to speak with Lisa Hanna without being amazed at her mix of total beauty and brains. What a woman! Many years ago, a girl named April Parchment entered a Jamaican beauty contest. If my memory serves me right, she did not place among the winners but in my view, she oozed everything men wanted.

It is known that many Jamaican men with money and power are drawn to these beauty contests, not just to gaze at the cattle show that aspects of them are, but to do a quick reconnaissance of the pickings in terms of having one or two of the girls to profile with for a few weeks or months.

Some of the girls have the uptown addresses without the blue blood to back it up. These are the easier ones to 'fool up' and every year, quite a number of them get caught up by the smooth talk of these men and the lavish gifts thrown at them. And, of course, in life, I scratch your back, I expect you to rub down mine, with aromatic oils and smooth hands.
In the present beauty contests I am not sure what to look for or look at. The curvy legs and the ample rear ends in the swim suits or the 'brains' in the question and answer segment. For sure, if I want to be edified, a beauty contest is the last place I would want to be at.

Come to think of it, I have never attended one and have no intention of ever doing so. I prefer to love the girls at a distance."

Mr. Wignall
I must say your fictitious story was very humorous, and somewhat true. Yes, the island is full of predominately dark skinned people but, light skinned, mixed whatever you want to call my type of people aren't THAT hard to find either and we all aren't rich and from Kingston. Please, don't add to the stereotypes.

Traditional Web Vote

The traditional web vote is used to gauge the public's perception of which candidate they feel is likely to win the Pageant. It does not count towards the actual selection of the contestant,
!!BUT IS USEFUL FOR G-A-U-G-I-N-G- HER PUBLIC SUPPORT!!!!!!

THESE GIRLS HAVE POTENTIAL.

ALICIA
TIFFANY
TANOYA TOYLOY (MOST BEAUTIFUL BLACK)
NADIA YOUNGMAN
ELMERETTA
AZIMA AKIMBEBE

YOU CAN VOTE FOR ANY OF THESE AND WE'LL HAVE A CHANCE

TRUST THE EXPERTS USE YOUR HEADS

TRACEY NEEDS TO ENTER PAGEANTS LIKE MISS COMMONWEALTH AND MISS JAMAICA FESTIVAL QUEEN TO WIN.

MISS WORLD IS NOT FOR HER

PLEASE I BEG YOU DONT LET JAMAICA BE A DISGRACE

PAGEANT WEBSITES AND PRESS REPORTERS ARE EXPECTING SOMEONE TO FOLLOW THE STEPS OF JADE FULFORD, AND EVEN SURPASS HER EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE, AND CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO SAY IF TRACEY STEPS IN. PPPPPLLLLLEEAAASSSSEE!!!

THE ONLY REASON TRACEY WILL PLACE IN THE TOP 10 IS BECAUSE THEY FEEL SORRY FOR HER SEEING THAT SHE ALREADY ENTERED AND DID NOT PLACE IN THE TOP 10. I VE SEEN IT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME, THAT'S THE ONLY RESASON THAT CHRISTINE MIGHTY PLACED IN TOP 5 LAST YEAR. EHICH WAS SO UNFAIR BECAUSE SHE DID NOT DESERVE THE SPOT OVER TIFFANY LEE. THEY JUST FELT SORRY FOR HER BECAUSE SHE ENTERED IN 2002 AND PLACED IN TOP 10, SO THEY DID NOT WANT TO SEND HER HOME EMPTY HANDED AGANIN.

TAKE IT FROM THE EXPERTS.

SENDING THIS DELEGATE COULD MEAN DOOM FOR JAMAICA IN CONTESTS TO COME.

STRAIGHT FROM THE HORSES MOUTH PEOPLE- -- LISTEN TO THE WORDS OF THE PAGEANT FRANCHISE HOLDER, 10:04:59 09/01/04 Wed [9]

Mickey Haughton James, head of Spartan Health Club, organisers of the pageant, explained the process and how the public will help choose the winner. James said that the public will count as the eleventh judge in addition to the 10 judges of the competition.

Contestants will be rated one to 10 and the girl with the most public votes will be the number one contender. The public vote will also serve as the tie-breaker. "If there's a tie, whoever is ahead in the public vote comes out on top," said James.

The lines for voting have already been opened and the contestants' profiles, along with their assigned numbers are being published in The Gleaner each weekday.

DO NOT BE MISLED BY THE "IGNORAMOUSES" WHO SAY THE PUBLIC VOTE DOESN'T MATTER.

IF YOU WANT TO SEE YOR GIRL COME OUT AHEAD ---
YOU ARE THE 11TH ELEVENTH JUDGE - SO YOU BETTER VOTE AND STOP WHINING AND PLEADING THE PUBLICS SYMPATHY!!

People, I have read what it says on the site about the voting. Your votes does not determined who wins this pageant because at the end of the day, you do not know those women. You do not know how smart they are and HOW good they do or do not look by just what you see on TV. simply put, you do not know them, like the Judges will. All this is, is Marketing ploy to get you to spend money to vote...the voting is not free. The bottom line is, Digicel or MJW making some extra money from your naivette. Your votes does not matter, they do not decide who wins, it just allows them to know who you like.

You are so right. If these people think that Mickey Haughton James will allow the public to choose who they want then they have something else coming. This pageant is determined by Haughton James and the judges who vote in the manor which Haughton James wants them to. If they think that Mickey will send someone who he does not like then they are indeed fools. Trust me the winner has already been determined.

You are indeed an idiot. This is supposed to be fun, but you have dampened the spirit of this with your BS. If you and others like you want to send that ugly girl to represent Jamaica then so be it. YOU KNOW DAMN WELL THAT SHE WILL NOT PLACE, BUT BECAUSE OF YOUR STUPID DETERMINATION YOU WILL BACK HER? Why waste time and vote when you and others like you are inundating up the voting system with Shit!

I understand what Jamaica is feeling, there is a "BLACK" girl in a predominantly "WHITE" competition. We feel we need to support her, but we need to also understand that the contest does not stop there it goes to MS. WORLD. This person has to represent Jamaica and she will have to posess the brain of rocket scientist and the intelligents of a President in order to stand among those exquistely beautiful women of the world. Do you honestly believe that your "popular" girl can bring the crown home. Can she do better than Jade did lasts year? It is not a complexion or skin tone contest, it is a "Beauty and Intelligence" contest.

Let us get you in on a little secret, the person selected will be sent to Sanya China to represent Jamaica at the Miss World contest. This contest will see the most beautiful and intelligent women compete form the coveted crown of Miss World 2004. How can someone who is not beauty queen material be sent to such a contest as in the case of Tanya? Just take time out and look at what the other countries have selected. Not only are these young women beautiful, but also they have the experience, exposure and intelligence to match. You can be supportive as much as you want, but just understand the simple fact that she will not do well. She will not do anything but have a pleasant stay in China. The public vote is just a guide to see what the public thinks, not the final say in who wins the contest. Do not be surprised if she places in the top ten or quite possible five, but go not further.

Guys i tell u the hype are currently over two contestants Tracey Ann Dawkins and Jordanne Halsall, but as time goes by it is obvious that the competition is getting stiffer. one can notice that Tiffany hollman, debbie ann mckreith, linda hudson , alecia soonman and erin mitchell all of whom where darkhorses have defonately stepped up their game. Lovely surprises are currently nadia youngman, elmeretta bankasingn and tanoya toyloy. Certain contestants still manage to manitain there game like Jordanne halsall, carlyn yapp, and chantelle lee singh but some major dissapiontments are tracey ann dawkins and Cartrina Baylis. Stephanie Lue yen still impresses me. But y'all know that i got to stick with my home girl Jordanne.
PS: ALL Y'ALL PEOPLE WHO ARE BACKING MISS DAWKINS, LOOK AT HER PHOTOS AND TELL ME IF YOU STILL HAVE YOUR HOPES UP FOR HER. TRUST ME, IF YOU ALL LOOK AT SOME OTHER COUNTRIES REPRESENTATIVES AND COMPARE THEM TO TRACEY, I'M SORRY JA WE WOULD BE DOOMED. WELL THIS IS JUST MY OPINION. Y'ALL NEED TO LEARN HOW TO ACCEPT PEOPLES OPINIONS.

CHOC HUNK, ONCE AGAIN YOUR PREDICTIONS REIGN.

I totally agree with you. If the girl does not stand a chance at Miss World, then why bother sending her? Look at the other girls already going to Miss World especially Miss Cayman? Intelligence and beauty in one delightful package. Tracey will not be noticed at Miss World and that is the painful truth!

Miss World 04 countries so far: -- j dangle, 20:09:51 08/29/04 Sun [6]

Here is a peak of those already slated for Miss World 04 so far. Just how can Tracy compete with these ladies? She is no Agbani so she will have a fine time in China....hopefully!

My money is on Miss Cayman who has the Miss Universe experience, is beautiful and very intelligent to get the Caribbean queen of beauty award and win or place very high at Miss World.
Miss Venezuela has not been chosen as yet, but you know that they are coming with something good. These girls have beauty, intelligence and have had months of experience representing their country so how can someone not facially beautiful compete. Be realistic, Tracy is not Miss World material.

Potential candidate form Miss Venezuela World 04 -- Dennis, 17:21:51 08/31/04 Tue [2]

I can understand why there is some opposition to that girl Tracey being sent to represent Jamaica at Miss World 04. This is a potential candidate for Miss Venezuela World 04, and looking at the other representatives already going to Miss World and this one, there is no way that Tracey can even place if she wins.

JAMAICA USE YOUR SENSES PLE. READ THIS HORRIBLE INTERVIEW -- ME, 07:35:15 08/30/04 Mon [1]

Meet the contestants:
published: Monday | August 30, 2004

Here is one of the 20 contestants in the Miss Jamaica World Competition. Leading up to the Grand Coronation Show scheduled for September 11 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, the contestants will participate in various mini-competitions which will determine the top 10.

The 'Talent', 'Sports' and 'Beach Beauty' competitions are three such competitions. The public is invited to 'Pick the Winner' via telephone voting by using their C&W bmobile phones.

To vote for Tracey-Ann Dawkins call 444-4203

Name: Tracey-Ann Dawkins Miss Waterfalls

Age: 21 years

Occupation: T.V presenter/ promoter/ choreographer

Height: 5' 9"

Weight: 135 lb

Vital stats: 34-24-36

What is your response to the claim that beauty contests are superficial?

"I don't believe that is true because of my past experience in beauty pageants. It helps to build me, gives me the confidence and motivation to start my TV show, to do modelling. The Miss Jamaica World has helped me a lot, so I do not believe it's superficial."

What in your opinion is your best quality?

"Determination sometimes it's called stubbornness and willpower."

How does being in the competition affect your career goals and how will it affect them if you win?

"I'm a well-known personality. It helps me to go out there and become a contestant in the Miss Jamaica World. It helps you to sell myself and in terms of my career, I should say I am my own company."

What do you think of the addition of the 'Talent', 'Sports' and 'Beach Beauty' mini-competitions to the pageant?

"I think it's a good thing. It shows that we're not just beauty queens, we have a lot of talent. In that sense we feel we are 'beauty with a purpose'."

Which of the mini competitions do you stand the best chance of winning?

"I'm going to give my best shot at the talent competition."

Name three must-haves:

"A successful company, a centre for the destitute and my own house."

Why should you win the title of Miss Jamaica World?

"I am an ambassador to Jamaica. I do modelling outside Jamaica. I'm very good at selling my country. I would be a very good role model and youth leader for the people around me."

SHE DOESNT EVEN KNOW PROPER ENGLISH. I VOTE FOR JORDANNE HALSALL, CAROLYN YAPP, CANDACE THORBOURNE, LINDA HUDSON, ALECIA SOOMOPN, AND TIFANNY HOLLMAN ALL THE WAY SUCKERS !!!!!
IN YOUR FACE
IS THIS REALLY WHO YOU WANT US TO SEND AND REPRESENT US

I guess what I said hit the damn pig on the head, and my dear that pig is you. You are the aggressive idiot on this board and to tell the truth the board was a lot more fun until you discovered it. Mutual courtesy is something of the past in your books, and you being dragged up is very evident from the way that you go about talking to others. Try douching; it might help with your scratch!

JORDANNE IS THE ONE TO BEAT REGARDLESS OF WHAT Y'ALL SAY I STRONGLY AGREE WITH CHOCOLATE HUNK. -- FUTUREMISS, 09:37:20 08/26/04 Thu [1]

I AM JUST WRITING TO DISPUTE WITH THAT WRITER WHO IS TRYING TO PUT DOWN MY BRO. CHOCOLATE HUNK.

1ST OF ALL THOSE POLL RESULTS DONT EVEN COUNT. OK. THEY HAVENOT EVEN BEEN UPDATED. THEY ARE NOT THE RESULTS OF THE PHONE VOTES WHICH THE JUDGES WILL USE. THE POLL DOES NOT COUNT OR MAKE ANY SENSE. HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED THAT THE ONLY DAYS THE RESULTS OF SOME CONTESTANTS ARE BOOSTED ARE ONLY WHEN THE CONTESTANTS HAVE THEIR CHAT DATES.

2ND: WE ARE NOT SAYING NO TO THE FACT THAT TRACEY DAWKINS IS VERY INTELLECTUAL, BUT IT STILL MATTERS. JORDANNE IS THE ONE TO BEAT. YOU CHECK ALL OF THE WEBSITES AND STUFF JORDANNE IS THE PUBLIC'S HOT FAVOURITE.

3RD: SHE IS NOT 5''5 AS YOU SAID SHE IS 5''9.

HAVE YOU EVER LOOKED AT JORDANNE IN PHOTOS OR ON THE ROAD SHOWS OR EVEN AT THE ELIMINATIONS. SHE IS ALWAYS SMILING. AND IT IS VERY GENUINE. SHE IS REALLY THE MOST CONFIDENT CONTESTANT ON STAGE. ELEGANT AND COMFORTABLE, LIKE SHE HAS BEEN DOING PAGEANTS ALL THE DAYS OF HER LIFE.

JORDANNE DEFINATLY HAS IT GOING ON. FOLLOWING CLOSE BEHING HER ARE:

CAROLYN YAPP
CANDACE THOURBOUNE
ALECIA SOOMOON
TIFFANY HOLLMAN.
AZIMA AKIMBEBE

PLUS THE COMPETITION BHAS JUST STARTED. REMEMBER WE STILL HAVE THE PRELIMINARIES AND ALSO THE BEACH BEAUTY MINI COMPETITIONS BEFORE WE CAN FINALLY MAKE OR JUDGEMENTS.

I too believe that Jordanne is the one to beat. I noticed tha the voting is not going in her favour and that could be a problem if the final outcome is placed from that. People should vote for the best and not for who they want. To post pictures do the following:I too believe that Jordanne is the one to beat. I'VE READ YOUR COMMENTS WITH GREAT HILARITY!

YOUR DESPARATE ATTEMPT TO SWAY PUBLIC OPINION IS NOT GOING

TO WORK HERE.

"The traditional web vote is used to gauge the public's perception of which candidate they feel is likely to win the Pageant. It does not count towards the actual selection of the contestant, but is useful for gauging her public support."

THE PUBLIC HAS SPOKEN- REGARDLESS OF WHO YOU THINK 'IS THE

ONE TO BEAT' HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

BY FAR TRACY ANN IS THE MOST FAVOURED - IN FACT SHE HAS

CAPTURED 33% OF THE VOTES - CHOCOLATE HUNK, WHILE YOUR 'ONE

TO BEAT' HAS ONLY MANAGED TO GET 1% -WHICH IS PROBABLY THE

ONLY VOTE SHE RECEIIVED -YOURS!

THIS WINNER SHOULD NOT ONLY HAVE A PRETTY FACE...BUT SHOULD

ALSO BE INTELLIGENT AND BE ABLE TO COMPETE ON AN

INTERNATIONAL LEVEL HENCE- BEAUTY WITH A PURPOSE!

THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER FACTORS TO TAKE INTO

CONSIDERATION...HEIGHT IS ONE- IT IS VERY UNLIKELY THAT A 5'5"

TALL BEAUTIFUL YOUNG WOMEN (WHICH ALL 20 OF THEM ARE) WOULD

BE COMPETITIVE WITH LADIES 5' 9" AND ABOVE -

ARTICULATION IS ANOTHER - IF YOU LISTEN TO THE VOICE

RECORDINGS AND EVEN IN THEIR TELEVISION APPEARANCES AS WELL

AS ON THE CHATLINE, YOU WOULD UNDOUBTEDLY SEE THAT

CONTESTANT # 3 IS THE MOST ARTICULATE AND POISED - LOOK AT

THE BROADER PICTURE -CHOCOLATE HUNK AND TRY TO ENVISION THE

TRADITIONAL "MW" WINNERS AND FINALISTS AT THE MW PAGEANT

COMPETITION - A LOCAL CANDIDATE WOULD HAVE TO FACE - IF

YOU TAKE THESE INTO CONSIDERATION - THEN YOUR "ONE TO BEAT"

WOULD NOT BE COMPETITIVE ON AN INTERNATIONAL SCALE.

REGARDLESS OF YOUR OPINION - THE PUBLIC VOTE AND THE

JUDGES' FINAL VOTE ON CORONATION WILL DETERMINE THAT....SO

WE WILL WAIT AND SEE.... FOR YOUR SAKE DON'T LET YOUR "ONE

TO BEAT"'S PARTICIPATION BE MARRED BY YOUR PATHETIC PLEA TO

TO THE PUBLIC CHANGE THEIR MINDS.

GOOD LOOKING OUT BRO ......

Llegan dos "REALITYS" GUANACOS con belleza! Preparense, MISS MUNDO se acerca a EL SALVADOR! -- http://www.voy.com/142870/, 16:01:36 08/20/04 Fri [1]

What are your interests and what do you enjoy doing the most?

Coming from Montego Bay makes me a natural beach bum! I love hanging out with my friends at Doctor's Cave or the Hip Strip in Montego Bay. Apart from going to the beach with my friends, I love to party and I enjoy social gatherings. My mother taught me to cook, which back then was an unbearable task. Now, cooking is something I actually enjoy doing. I love to make a great meal and entertain my friends. I love sports and also exercising. I play badminton, tennis, and I also like to swim. Music is very important to me and I think my life would be less enjoyable without it. I enjoy listening to conscious rasta music.

Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life? Why?

Both my sisters Kim & Lorraine have had a tremendous impact on my life. I am the youngest of the three siblings and I have always admired my big sisters. They have had a major impact on my life because our family is very close. They have always been there for me and continue to be great role models. Kim and Lorraine give me great advice.

What is your proudest personal accomplishment?

My proudest personal accomplishment is realising that the difficulties I have faced in my life have made me a better person. I had the tendency to be pessimistic in the past, but growing older and having more life experiences have taught me to focus on the positives. Now I believe there is always a 'rainbow at the end of the rain'.

What is the most interesting or unique thing that has ever happened to you, and or what is the most interesting thing about you?

One of the most interesting things that happened to me was the experience I had in the Miss Jamaica World Pageant in 2004 and placing second. It was my first experience in a competition of this type and I was faced with many challenges. However, I rose above those challenges and I am definitely a stronger, more focused person today. I am always told by my peers that I act very mature for my age. I believe that my ability to work well under pressure is a very interesting aspect of my character. I am also a resilient and flexible individual, always eager to learn.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.

I grew up in Farm Heights, Montego Bay. It is a fairly large community, however, the people are warm and friendly. I think I enjoyed my childhood tremendously. I grew up with my parents and two sisters. My sisters and I played with dolls, and as I got older, I started a sticker collection. I also started to sing in the church choir. My preteen years were difficult because I was teased for being skinny and called names like 'string bean' and Olive (from the Popeye cartoon). I have overcome this and is now a confident young woman.

What do you hope to be doing in 10 years?

In 10 years, with the help of God, I am sure that I would have realised my academic goals. I hope to get married with three children.
