LOVE IT!

The opening chapter definitely has me intrigued.
I like the setting, and the characters, and can't wait to find out what happens next. As well as get to know Celwyn and the prince, a little better.

I'm not sure I respect the king though, from what little I know.
He talks as though he has respect for Elyan, as a great warrior. But he's willing to have his soldiers execute him if he doesn't follow his orders. Even worse - he's retired, so it's not like he's even in his service.
So, at the moment, I don't rate him much on that basis. But who knows, if we see more from him / about him, he could change my mind.
