It absorbs so much information during the day. So many colors, so many conversations, so many details. And everything that you experience, every single minute of the day...has an effect on you. Even the little things that you never pay attention to. That tiny moments that most people see as being...trivial. Unimportant. If you were to close your eyes, and examine every inch of your unconscious mind...those tiny little details will be there waiting for you. In full vibrant color. affecting everything from your behavior, to your inner thoughts....to your dreams.
At the end of every night, when you lay down to sleep...all of that information that you didn't 'use' for some concrete daily task is expressed through the images of sleep. Those magic motion pictures that we see and usually forget before waking the next morning. The secrets we keep, the desires we hold, the feelings we suppress, the fears we cower from...in our dreams they are open, honest, unguarded, in our unconscious mind. Completely vulnerable in their purest form. Our true selves, lost in a fantasy from which we may never wake.
Anything that was able to pierce through that hidden barrier....between dreams and waking reality...anyone with the ability to see into that part of our soul and the souls of those we care about...could, quite possibly, become one of the greatest threats in existence. To our lives, to our emotions, to our very sanity.
I imagine if there were such an entity out there that could explore us at our most vulnerable point...it would be best to keep it happy. And to NEVER anger it. Or bring it discomfort.
....Or break its heart.
Because if it decides to strike back at us...the punishment you face will be more severe than anything you've ever known. Swift and brutal vengeance that attacks the very core of all we are.
