Justin and Taryn meet him right away when they meet the Jeweler. Bookworm is his number one advisor. He carries the large book, he's the one that took Justin and Taryn upstairs to give them a luxury room to stay in, he's been there for every training session, and he's also the one that Justin is constantly telling to 'stay out of his head', as Bookworm is a reader as well.

So he's been around quite a bit over the last 16 chapters or so. :P
