Subject: I LOVE both In The Mouth Of Madness and Sliders

In fact, did you know In The Mouth Of Madness is heavily inspired by the works of HP Lovecraft? The entire movie is an homage to the types of stories he told. It's such a brilliant film. :) And I LOVE Sliders too, especially the earlier stand-alone episodes before it got all story-arc-y. lol.

One could even point to Wes Craven's New Nightmare. (Yeah, I am OBSESSED with horror. Even toying with the idea of starting a horror movie podcast). Basically, it stars the actors AS THEMSELVES in the real world, and 'Freddy' (really an ancient demon/thoughtform) begins terrorizing the cast and crew. Wes Craven is even in it as himself. You prob have seen it.

Or the episode of Deep Space 9, 'Far Beyond The Stars' where Captain Sisko enters a reality in the 1950's where he is Benny Russel, a struggling science fiction writer, writing about Deep Space 9 and it's characters! What's cool is, the entire cast; Worf, Dax, Odo, Kira, Quark etc are in it as well without their makeup! They happen to be other writers working for the same magazine. Eventually Sisko ends up back in his own reality, but the question of what is real and what is the fiction is left open ended. I'll quote the last line, he says: "For all we know, at this very moment, somewhere far beyond all those distant stars, Benny Russell is dreaming of us."

There's sooo many examples of reality-breaking forth wall stuff! Especially nowadays where 'meta' is so fashionable, and it doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon.
