As long as there is some solid corm there, it could root. If you have excess to any, I'd dust the bottom with some type of rooting medium, or dip it in the liquid type. Not necessary, but it could help. Just make sure it's planted in some 'FAST' draining planting material. Don't let it dry completely out, or stay to wet either. Temperatures shouldn't drop below 65 or 70*f at any time. Cut off any leaves, as there's no roots to supply moisture. The plant may just sit there for a long time while the roots are forming. As long as the stem stays green & solid, it's still alive. Once it's rooted, new leaves start growing. Mist the new leaf several times a day without watering to much more till the second leaf is growing. You now have a little banana plant to water & fertilize as you would any other banana plant. Of course by then, it'll probably be warm enough to plant it outside for the summer.
