First thing I would suggest is to take a few cuttings in case that big baby doesn't make it through the winter. Easy to root in water. I've had mine in the garden for about 10 years. What I do is cover the root area about a foot deep with leaves. After a freeze, I cut off the top (tree like part) leaving the main stalks above the pile. In the spring, after all danger of frost is past, I *carefully* pull back the leaves. I say carefully because there may be new growth coming up next to the old stalk. Rather there is or not, once The sun warms the soil, more new growth should emerge shortly. Once it starts growing good, you can sell, trade, or give away the cuttings you saved over the winter. Or you could always plant them somewhere else, but you may want to save the space for other verities now, as you are now probably hooked on growing them. LOL.
