i don't have it to eat, but yes, i think they're related to what was known in the west as loco weed, or something like that... oh, the flower that opened has a real nice aroma to it in the evenings... young children might be tempted to taste the sweet smelling flower, but i don't allow them near my plants anyway...

years ago, a friend got a couple of goats to clear some acreage... they both died from eating the wild growing veriety...
