I haven't had the opportunity to try M. Sikkimensis yet, but I do want to try some here someday soon. I plan to protect some outside to see if they'll come back anything like my M. Basjoo does. Maybe some extra mulch. It sounds like you're doing things right with your seeds. Keep them warm & don't let them dry out. How many seeds do you have? I planted some (Un-known) banana seeds last winter in a wide pot. I used a well drained soil mix, spread the seeds and covered with about 1/4 in. of sand. I kept it moist, and the only extra heat it received was the sun through a south window. A few started coming up in about 3 weeks, but continued up to 3 months. I believe I got 100% germanation by then. The advantage of starting seeds in a comunity pot is that you don't disturb the roots by moving them, till spring, when they needed transplanting anyway.
