- Birth Control/Estrogen question -- female bodybuilder, 07:31:42 07/04/08 Fri [17]
After reading this board over the past few years, I have come to the realization that not only will I get a bunch of smart ass replies as well as people questioning me beyond my original question. That being said, I am looking for your educated information regarding this question.
Please do not suggest alternative options in birth control as you do not know my situation, nor is it any of your business.
Now, with that out of the way, I am a female bodybuilder who does not wish to get pregnant right now. The ONLY option for me (and trust me when I say this) right now is the use of "the pill".
However, I fear that by using said method I would hinder muscle growth and that I'd only be a dog chasing my tail.
Does anyone have any information regarding the use of birth control pills and my potential to stop gaining? OR is this simply an Urban Legend and not true?
Thank you for your time and honest opinions and information.

- Scivation Whey....Awesome -- Keith, 09:31:10 07/10/08 Thu [1]
Yes, I am on Team Scivation!! I just received my chocolate Whey from Scivation yesterday. It is the best tasting chocolate whey that I have ever tasted. Before this, it was always Matrix 5.0 but that stuff is very expensive. Scivation Whey is one of the least expensive on the market. It is a concnetrate/isolate mix. Mixes very good, and again the taste is great.
They have vanilla also, not a fan of vanilla though, both from Scivation and any other brand, just dont like the taste of Vanilla Protein.
Scivation Sludge
2 scoops of whey
2 tbls of peanutbutter or almond butter
1/2 cup of water
1/2 cup of thawing blueberries (optional) and added after other ingredients mixed.
I use this as my 2nd meal of the day!

- Subject:: weight classes for pros -- halzmister, 05:48:16 06/24/08 Tue [18]
Had a discusion with the BW the Pres this week about forming weight classes for the pros. Now that the amount of pros are on the way up I think it would be a good idea. 10 pros would be the minimum for this to happen. I suggest two classes only from up to 174. Then 175+.
Payout would be something like 1st 400
2nd 250
3rd 175
Then the overall between the 2 gets $250 more. the left over $100 goes to the overall best pro poser. This way six pros get paid and two bonus awards thrown in. What do you guys think.I might try it at the NYS VIII

I have copied and put as a reply a recent mailing from Marc at Scivation about this. Good reading!
Also remember... they offer FREE pre-contest and off season training, and no you dont have to buy their supplements to get it. For some of you novices, and seasoned vets, how can you go wrong?

Competitor News: -- Mr. Delong, 21:26:51 06/14/08 Sat [5]
Seeing how I live in the Rodchester area I went to see the NPC show of Mr. Rodchester, and gee golly there were two competitors who I recogniized. Well one more than the other. The first competitior was a teenager in the heavywight division the kid won a U.S.B.F. show and is only 19. Any one know who I am talking about, his leg development is sick! Mini version of Brian Young! The kid is going to be very good in the future. Then long an behold I heard the name we all hate to love the poser man Damien Dedonatis. turns out he competed in the bench press competition and the S.O.B. took second place benching his bodyweight of 180 an amazing 21 times but I counted 26 he lost to a guy that was in his mid 30's who weight significantly more than him. This kid is slowly but surley making his mark. I am finding a new respect for the man. If you read this Damien keep it up and you had another great routine at Plattsburgh.

- Plattsburgh Pro/Am -- Keith, 13:38:37 06/02/08 Mon [22]
Hi Everyone,
I will have some pics up soon. I dont have many, and I did not video record the show. Just way too much to do the last few days and never got a chance to set everything up.
I hope everyone had fun. I received few complaints if any. Still not sure who told the DJ to cut the music at 90 seconds!!! Sorry to those that had it cut. I usually do not do that, I figure if you can entertain then entertain. Just dont get up on stae and do the same poses for what will seem an eternity for the spectator.
Honest...glad it is over!! This year it was very stressful for me promoting this show. I was running around like crazy dog last few days getting everything inorder. I had alot of comments that the show ran better than last year, and to that I am thankful and give thanks to my expediters and to my judges.
Especially my judges!! Mike, awesome job in being head judge. Your experience in the sport is unmatched and your call outs were usually spot on with the end placings. That takes a keen eye. You have that. Pete, Norm, Bill, Glen, Doug, Kathy, Colleen thank you so much. Your devotion to the sport as a judge always goes unnoticed. Let me bring light to it. You travel at your own expense, give 3 days of your lives to helping others compete. Usually only to be second guessed by those who look at pictures after. Thank you for helping!!
Now let me be the bearer of bad news. I made a mistake in tabulation of the scores in the pro division. On one of the judges score cards the order of competitors was different than the rest, so when I transferred the placings they were given to the wrong competitors. Since this was a pro division, and $$ is invloved, AND it is the right thing to do, I have come public with this. The correct placings for the Pro division are as follows
1. Rico
2. Parmeter
3. Peterson
4. Austin
5. Christopher
6. LaClair
7. Viteritti
8. Caine
9. Grizz
10. Zirin
There was very close placings! In fact a three way tie for 7th place, then a 2 way tie for 8th place. 6th place was only 2 points lower than 7th!! So lets be clear, placings dont tell the whole story! It was a freaking awesome pro line up. The top 5 looked at their best we have seen. Great job. If there are any complaints about those that feel slighted I will more than gladly post the scores.
Thanks everyone for coming!! Now its time to concentrate on my progression to the pro ranks. This fall is quickly approaching!!
Keith

- Response to a post by First timer about low female numbers -- Keith, 13:14:24 06/05/08 Thu [2]
In response to the low numbers in my show for Pro Womens Bodybuilding and Pro Figure.
I too was very disappointed in only getting 2 competitors in each division. I believe Kent had 5 if memory serves me correctly. He is much closer to the "hub" of competitors being in NJ than Plattsburgh, which most surely is one reason.
I honestly thought that by me adding my date next to Kent that more women would take advantage of the 2 shows and either turn pro or at least compete. I was wrong.
I have not decided as to if I will offer them again. As a promoter speaking, even though I was "smart" and put in a 5 minimum clause for 1k payout, it was still a money losing venture. I refuse to lose money, in trying to offer women an avenue to compete, and not have any interest shown.
I will add that it completely rests on the promoters shoulders. All costs to offer these divisions are placed on the promoter with no help from the organization. And the IFPA, OCB, NGA, WNBA are no different, so as to not place blame on any one organization. I dont agree with this. So unless I see over the next few months, a renewed interest, maybe even some confirmed entries, I probably will not offer Pro Women Bodybuilding and Pro Figure again. Sorry ladies, I did everything I could do as a promoter.
$300 in entry fee's, $1200 in payouts. Would you do it again?
Sincerely,
Keith
