I was diagnosed with HPV last year in December. I though that my life just failed apart. My new husband was crashed by this news. I didn't know who gave me the virus. Because I had one more sexual partner in between Pap smear. I read all articles and felt so down like never before. I was scared that he'll divorce me. But we worked trough it and yesterday I received results and my pap was normal. I am healthy again. This past year I took ANTI-VIRAL herbal formula and YONI formula for 6 months. I also DETOX to clean up my system. I found all this at DHERBS. This website gave me hope. I am so happy!!! I found them by accident and chat with their herbalist. He recommended me these formulas for my problem and it worked for me. I know that nature can help you with any problem you have like it helped me. Give it a try because you life is worth it.

When I had my pap smear, I was told that I was positive for HPV. It probably caused my other diagnosis of cervical cancer. I'm 52 and single and have not been sexually active for more than 8 years. The doc told me that I could,ve had HPV for 30 years. The only other symptom I had from the HPV virus was a compromised immune system. I was told that taking folic acid everyday would build my immune system back up. I just wanted people to know that you can have the HPV virus for many years and it's just dormant in your body. Don't automatically blame or suspect your current partner...It could have been with you or your partner for many years.
Wishing the best for you all!!!! Pat

So is this really the case? If you have HPV and go get a pap smear, if it comes back normal, than nothin is wrong (its gone into remission?)

My doctor wasn't very helpful when she told me I had this: she just gave me some pamphlets and told me to come see her in 2 weeks for more treatment. Thanks

Hi Trish...once we have HPV..then it is with us...

Most often HPV does regress with time...some gals do need treatments...some don't.

A Pap smear is not a screening tool for HPV...a PAP looks for abnormal cells...after abnormal cells are found a HPV test may be done...this test screens for high risk HPV.

Low risk HPV can cause cell changes of the cervix but low risk HPV types tend to regress very fast...and low risk HPV are not included in our HPV screening...

Because HPV can reoccur and we can always acquire other HPV anal Paps are recommended...

I am not sure by your post if you were diagnosed with HPV via a visual of vulva warts or as a result of an abnormal Pap.

If you give me a little more information perhaps I can help you understand more.

Here is some basic facts on HPV.

So Myra, what your saying is...if HPV was detected in an abnormal pap and not but vaginal warts then it is the high risk type? What happens then? I was just recently diagnosed about 3 weeks ago after having my first pap in 2 years. My doctor didnt really tell me alot, he said even getting the vaccine may help and that I could have had this for the past two years and never known it. I have no symptoms at all. Does this mean that I do have high risk HPV??

I am not sure if I answered this question in my other post.

Abnormal cell changes can occur with both low risk and high risk HPV types.

A positive HPV test indicates you have one or more of the 13 HPV types the HPV test screens for.

Visual vulva warts are thought to be of low risk HPV types..however newer research tells us people with low risk HPV types may also carry a co-infection with high risk HPV types.

There is no standard screening method for high risk HPV types of the vulva.

A positive HPV test of the sample taken of your cervix is only this...a test to see if you have high risk HPV types of the cervix.

Our Pap is a test for cervical cancer.

Most people with HPV have no signs..

And yes getting the vaccine may provide protection against HPV types that you have not acquired.

The vaccine is not a treatment for HPV types that we have and the vaccine only prevents two high risk HPV types and they are 20+ high risk HPV types...the vaccine is only a first step in helping eliminate cervical cancer.
