I have never had an abnormal pap before. ( I am 39, no kids ) I have several risk factors: my fiance of 11 years is uncircumsized ( I have heard this can cause cervical problems ) I have Herpes simplex 2 for the past 20 years, and I have HPV.. ( i had genital warts when I was 20.. I had them frozen off and they never returned ) Even with all of these issues / risk factors, I never had an abnormal pap before. 2 1/2 yrs ago, my fiance and I broke up, and I had sex with 2 different men; I now suspect that one of them ( or maybe both of them ) introduced a new strain of HPV to me, which is now causing my pap to come back LSil. ( of course, this is just a guess.. again, the reason I say this is because the strain that caused the warts at age 20 never caused an abnormal pap.. now, all of the sudden, 2 1/2 yrs after having sex with 2 new partners, I have an abnormal pap... ) In any case, whatever the reason is that I have the LSil, I am still scared. I have a Colpo scheduled for June 20.. I am hoping for the best, obviously... and I tend to be pro-active, so if there are abnormal cells, I want them GONE.. I dont have to worry about preserving my cervix, because I am almost 40, have no kids and dont ever want any, so thats not an issue...
