There will be a School Family Feis. We are working out the details now. Unortunately, the cost of renting the RiverCenter in Davenport, IA has become prohibitive in having the Feis in the same venue that we have used in the past.

We are hopeful to have information for the School Feis within the week. We are looking at a few possible dates, but none earlier then May 30, 2009.

Quad Cities Dance Families and Other Interested Persons -

St. Ambrose University Irish Studies and Department of Kinesiology is sponsoring a free, family-friendly ceili this Sunday, April 19 from 2-4 pm in the Lee Lohman Arena (gym). Two hand, ceili and set dances dances taught and called by Gerry Bade, well-known caller in the QC. The Quad Cities Ceili Band will be on hand playing some wonderful live music. We would love to have you join us.
Park in the lot off Lombard St. next to the gym.

In addition Irish Studies is also sponsoring its annual Lawrence J. McCaffrey lecture next Thursday, April 23 in the Rogalski Center Ballrooms at 7 pm. Dr. Maureen Murphy of Hofstra University will keynote and present "The Irish Servant Girl in America." This lecture is free and open to the public. More information on the lecture can be found on the SAU Homepage.

As a point of interest: Dr. McCaffrey was one of Mike's teachers when he was in college! Dr. McCaffrey has donated a portion of his library to SAU and was a major force in initiating the SAU Irish Studies program.

I use to dance for Mullane and miss it so much, I am student teaching now and brought in my costume to show the students and it made me think of great times in the basement of Norwood Park and Sat mornings at the IAHC. I should have never stopped dancing.. I still know some steps and its been 5-6years since I stopped dancing! I am glad everyone is doing well!! :)

I have two upcoming performances that were just booked at O'Brien's Restaurant 1528 N Wells Chicago.

I am looking for between 6-8 dancers and all dancers in Novice level at any location are welcome to perform if interested. We will be performing there this Saturday (February 28, 2009) from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

Our performance is to assist Mercy Homes for Boys and Girls.

Does anyone know what the cost is to enter into the feis? There was not a family fee when we registered. Do we have to pay the full admission price per person for the festival even if we are only going to the feis?

Order Forms for NEW warms ups/duffle bags have been emailed to everyone. If you did not get one, email me at tgfrumkin@comcast.net and I will forward one to you. They should also be available at the studios beginning this week. Deadline for ordering is FEBRUARY 23RD. There will be no late orders taken past this date. Warm ups will be delivered to Worlds dancers in time for Philadelphia. Thanks!

Can you tell me when the Iowa Family Feis weekend is? I thought last year it was around the 15th May. I know the main hotel is the Radisson, and the weekend of the 15-17May is pretty full, due to graduation weekend. If anyone can verify the weekend it would be helpful so I could book a room. Due to Mike's work schedule and not being able to make it back to the studio due to the inclement weather, driving conditions, and the expected snow fall - THERE IS NO DANCING IN EDISON PARK tonight.

I will offer a class on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm for anyone attending the Milwaukee Winter Feis and/or for anyone who missed class tonight due to my cancellation. There is no charge for this class.

Sorry for the lateness in announcing this cancellation but there is no way I will be back to the studio in time for class. Sorry.
