Ken Olson, father of former Mullane dancer Kimi Olson, died this past weekend. Wake is tonight, funeral mass tomorrow - Obit. below.
Kenneth W. Olson of Mundelein
The Liturgy of The Word for Kenneth W. Olson is 11 a.m. Thursday, at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 22333 W. Erhart Road, Mundelein. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today, at Kristan Funeral Home P.C., 219 W. Maple Ave. (two blocks west of Route 45 on Route 176), Mundelein.
Born May 23, 1946, in Chicago, he died Sunday March 16, 2008, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Ken taught architecture and building at Carmel High School in Mundelein during the 1970s. He owned and operated Viking Design Group and was a pioneer in development of West Lake Forest's Evergreen, Arbor Ridge and Windridge Subdivisions. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Ken is survived by his wife Kathleen, (nee Stumpp); his children, Katie (Tim) Somen, Kristin (Mike) Higgason, K.J. Olson and Kimi Olson; his mother, Violet Olson; brother, Rick (Kathy) Olson; his grandson, Thomas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth; and his brother, Ronald. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family appreciated.
