Dear Terrific Trio and your Mum and Dad (and big brother!),

Although I was not born quite as young as you (I made it to 32 weeks), I was not a whole lot bigger than Jasper and Sela - I was 2.8lbs. I am only 4 months old now, so I remember very well what it was like in the big hospital (alhtough my Mum and Dad took me back to Australia to be born). But now I live in Hong Kong again, just like you.

So, welcome to the world, Little Ones!

I know it's hard that Mummy and Daddy can't be with you all the time, but you always have to remember that you are surrounded by lots and lots of love, and that is just as important for growing big and strong as the EBM.

There are many of us who have graduated from ICN and SCN to go on and grow up big strong and cheeky! You guys are doing well, and you need to keep drinking that EBM to the last drop, keep resting and put on lots of weight. 'Cos it's when you start to get a bit bigger that you get to have lots of cuddles with Mum and Dad, and that is the best thing in the world!

I will be watching your updates, and my Mum says she looks forward to hearing good news about you guys.

For all he knows is the ringing of the bells and the blurred images around him.
He has been taken from my womb without warning and I long to hold him in my arms.
Lord, I ask in your name that my child be healed.
I am willing to accept your decision no matter what it will be.
I am willing to take on the responsibilities for caring for this child. I am willing to give this child love and understanding no matter the cost.
Please Lord help me to accept reality and what has happened without explanation or warning.

Good Morning Angels! Or should that be piglets? Well done on the weigh-in. Whose sneaking the Big Macs or KD into the NICU? I know your Dad always did have a weakness for KD - has he been sneaking it into your desert?

Grandad Caldwell is at it again with the maple syrup and it is delicious. Of course we had to sample even if it was just off the bits spilt on the table. We could send some over if you think it would help your - er - diet?

We couldn't be prouder of you, or your big brother, Mom and Dad. You are all an inspiration to us all with your strength and endurance through this physical and emotional roller coaster. Please let Mommy know that I really appreciated her comments on the web site. Please let Daddy know that the red, skinny medicine is on its way to help fortify during late night web site updates. Like so many others, I check it regularly, frequently, whenever I can.

This just in from Tess at the NICU:

Carys - from 890 grams to 940 grams = just over 2 lbs.

Sela - from 1.165 kg to 1.22 kg = 2 lbs 10 oz.

Jasper - from 1.19 kg to 1.28 kg = 2 lbs 13 oz!

Maureen said, "Why did you say - 'brother and sister' rather than 'brother and sisters'"? My reply was, "I did say, 'sisters'". Maureen's response was, "Did you edit your message?" My worried response was, "No".

OK, so maybe I don't always catch my typo's :-(

This is your eldest here, writing to say that one day you will have your 4 youngest grandchildren visiting you and since Sebbie has been there a few times he can show, Jasper, Sela and Carys the ropes of how to get Grandad to buy them lots of naughty treats, and let them stay up late, etc etc.

I too want to thank everyone for all the support they are giving to my sister, my fantastic brother in law and their 4 children. I think I can say on behalf of our whole extended family... that we feel a overwhelming sense of peace, love and support knowing how many people from around the world are so touched by the struggles of these 3 babes as we are. Jasper, you have really settled into your role as man about the NICU. I bet you sweet talk all the nurses.

Carys, i have a little inspirational story for you. I have a friend whose brother had lymphoma. He had lots of nasty medicine, kind of like you. It completely destroyed his entire immune system (this was the plan). After he had no immune system left he got a lung infection. Yes, it was aspergillis. Even with no immune system left he fought back and won against the fungus. This fungus CAN be beaten, and you have something he didn't, lymph nodes (no, you don't need to know what those are right now). Rest, grow, go at your own pace, but know that you CAN do this!

TGIF !! Today's update really brought new meaning to that saying for me. I was so happy to read about all of the accomplishments that the Triplets are making :-). Sela is the accomplisher with a mission at hand, Jasper is the follower taking cues from Sela, and Carys is the mini-warrior who is fighting off the bad bugs. The newest pic of all 3 does seem to be showing that there is some facial similarities.. I was proudly showing the babes new pics today.
Tess and Charles, your continue to amaze me at how strong you are. I look up to you both with nothing but the highest regards and respect. You are amazing parents ,with 4 beautiful children (I am quite biased). Do allow yourselves those down-times, as they help alot.
Sebastian.... I am so proud at what a good boy you are. Mozzie has been telling me all sorts of good things about you. We will sit down over some girl guide cookies and you can tell me eveything that is new in your life when I next see you. I know you are going to be a great big brother to your brother and 2 sisters!

i am praying for you ,that god will give all three of your babies esp carey a perfect healing of mind body and spirit. i am the mother of 28wk triplets ggb . with many issues . my dd had a gr 4 ivh bleed and was shunted at 5wks of age do to hydro and my son had a ivh gr 2. and my other daughter has high blood pressure. now my kids r doing so great . they were one in dec but should have been born in march 03. both my dd are crawling all over the place and r cruising the furniture and my son is walking all over the place. the reason i am telling u this is to let u know, i know the pain in your heart right now , becuase i have been were u r now and it is very tough, but there is a light at the end of the tunel. but right now u have to take things minut to minute and then day to day. but, please know i am praying for u and your trio. may gods blessings be your in abundance.claire .

I have been following your updates daily since hearing of your story on The Triplet Connection. I have been praying for Jasper, Sela, and Carys every day (maybe a few more prayers added in there for Carys) as well as your family. I know how difficult this time must be for all of you. My boys were born at 33 weeks, however, my littlest guy developed a life-threatening infection a few days after being sent home from the NICU and almost died. At the time, I never thought I would see the day where he would be running and playing with his brothers. But now, at 20 months, he is quite the little spitfire and has had no long-term side effects from his infection/treatment. The moral of my story is that miracles do happen. Carys is in the best hands possible and you have friends all over the world who are praying for you and your little ones. I know Carys is giving you a run for your money right now, so I will continue to say some extra prayers. God bless you and your family!
