The DC5 is not a staple on college radio, not even close. We listen to many college stations. Of the eight major English Beat bands The Beatles are everywhere, the Stones and the Kinks are second and third in amount of songs played.
The supermarket song you heard was from a subscriber music service the store pays for, lots of oldies are heard in supermarkets. We are seventeen years into the new century and the Beatles make news darn near weekly. This befuddles me. Here is a recent headline - George Harrison Sixteen LP Box Set Readied by UMe and Harrison Estate. There is a new Pro-Ject turntable, announced at the recent CES, with George Harrison's likeness stenciled on it. Wait for the tidal wave when Sir Paulie bites the dust.
