I have the greatest respect for Rick, I knew him well, great bloke, I even bought his guitar when he needed money and the local music shop only offered him peanuts for it, (I gave him every penny he wanted for it), but I wonder about this. For a start 'You can't sit down' is very 'Jerky' and not an 'even and steady' beat, the DC5 sound relies on a 'steady and strict four to the bar beat' as the 'Doug Sheldon' recording does, it also relies more on the drums, and Bobby Graham got it just right on the DC5 recordings. I would ask anyone interested to listen to it, then listen to the record I bought (Your Ma said you cried in your sleep last night) and took to Dave and gave it to him saying 'this is the sound you are looking for', and make up your own mind, and I would lbe interested to know what you think?
