I wanted to post about what a positive experience I had this week end. I helped judge a pageant in LA. And I must tell you it was a joy. I have been judging for over 25 years and this was by far the best experience I’ve ever had. After each age division was crowned the contestants and their Mothers came to the judges and thanked us and people this was from last place to queen. These Mothers and contestants showed sportsmanship like I have never seen. I was setting where I could see the contestants getting ready to go on stage, well in the older groups 10years and older these girls were helping each other get ready pulling down each others linings, spreading out each others dresses, pining each others numbers on, checking each others make-up and in general helping one another to win. This is what I call good sportsmanship. I wish all pageant people could act this way; it would make the experience so much better for all concerned. We could all take a lesson from these Mothers and daughters, have fun and be happy for the winners and proud of where you placed no matter where it was. I have all ways said all contestants are winners just for getting on that stage and trying.
Congratulations to all the pageant contestants that competed this weekend and remember you are all winners to me. Have a fun experience this coming weekend where ever you compete, and Mom remember it is you that sets the pace on how your child handles where she places, be proud of her no matter where she places and all ways show god sportsmanship.
