i read a little of your page about HF & CW. it seems u have gone to a lot of trouble to find things out. i am at the moment searching for something but stumbled accross your site .. so i cant stay .. but i sympothise with u. Im an old school radio ham & was brought up on old valve radios in the late 50,s & 60,s. by this definition it makes me an old git!!! But i hung on till the 90,s until i studied the morse .. edged on by a good radio ham friend of mine that had bothered to study & pass the rotten test. I must make one point very clear. When u (or anyone else) gets to reading 4-5wpm cw ... the 12wpm soon becomes easy!! its true. its like talking fast. most people can do it .. even my crazy son!!! talk fast that is.
Sounds far fetched .. but it aint. Our gang all moaned about not being allowed to transmit on topband or 80. It took me about 6 months to get to 6wpm & not long to get up to 12+. But u MUST NOT STOP once u have started learning it. also its good to learn a few letters first .. say .. A - E to start .. then F - J etc etc. boring egh?? ..
Anyhow i never thought i could do it .. but all of a sudden ... HEY !!! i can read it !!!
I do agree with U & others .. why should i learn morse?
& i think it shouldnt be nescessary at all if u dont want to .. especially these days.
Good luck with your radio ...
