Subject: 800% and 3000% KPB lodging sales tax increases

Fishing / Lodging Package
$1,000 fishing, 7 days lodging/$1,000 per day = $8,000 package - 5% sales tax, with a $500 max. cap. = $25 package sales tax.
Lodging Sales Tax Change:
$1,000 fishing, 7 days lodging/$1,000 per day = $8,000 package - 5% sales tax, with a daily $500 max. cap. = $200 package sales tax.
$1,000 fishing = $25 sale tax, $7,000 lodging = $175, $25 + $175 = $200 package sales tax.

This package went from a $25 package sales tax to a $200 package sales tax, by just being broken out of the earlier
package and then calculated daily for the max. tax cap. This is an 800% sales tax increase on lodging alone.
Adding an additional 8% bed tax onto lodging alone would then increase this packages sales tax an additional $560
8% of $7,000 lodging = $560
$560 bed tax + $175 max cap tax = $735 total package sales tax.

Combining the max. tax change and an 8% bed tax would result in a $735 sales tax increase on the previous $25 package.
The end result is a "lodging only" sales tax which is 30 times greater than before.
This would calculate into a total 3000% increase in sales tax on "lodging only".
I believe both the 800% and 3000% sales tax increases for a single industry within the KPB are totally outrageous.
