 First of all, I really like this message board. It's the first I've seen on any camp site. I am the commander of the PVT Richard Taylor Camp in Huntsville , Alabama and we have an individual who wants to join our order, but we're having problems obtaining information concerning his Civil War ancestor. We have the basic information but lack the documentation. I've put in a call to the New York State archives for help, but haven't had a reply yet. He has also sent to the National Archives, but that is a 60 to 90 day wait. If a Brother is going to the archives and is willing to research and get copies of the enlistment record, we'd be very grateful. The soldier's information is:
Henry Hiltibidal enlisted at the age of 31 on 12/23/63 at Lodi, NY in Co.F, 148th NY Infantry. He was killed at Cold Harbor on 6/3/64 and is buried in Cold Harbor National Cemetery under the spelling "H.Hilterbride," in Section B, Grave # 59.

It goes without saying that we will reimburse for any copying expenses incurred.
