I thought the evaluation was pretty good. Many players gain a reputation due to word of mouth - not actually seeing someone play. I think that Minnoy's reputation as a power forward is created by him being a "powerful" player. I say that because I have rarely seen him in the post with his back to the basket.

The past two tournaments have solidified the fact that he is a true two guard. The Fire was impressive in these tourneys in the fact that they start four players who can handle the ball as guards (Freeman, Pargo, Minnoy & Walker).

I don't agree that he is a player without a position at all. That fact is from reputation alone. He is a 2.

By the way, the high majors are no longer taking a wait and see approach. He currently has high major offers from Purdue, Ole Miss and Texas A&M to name a few. Wisconsin, UConn and Seton Hall are also high on him right now.

I hope Julian Wright does turn out to be a terrific player. He is a good kid and has enormous potential. Right now, I'd put my money on Minnoy. Stars rise to the occasion, no matter what the defense. Minnoy averaged 20 pts and 12 rebs a game and was double and triple teamed all year - even though he had very good teammates in Mike Robinson, Jerod Haynes, and Jerome Randle to name a few. Julian Wright barely averaged double figure points, but Cyrus Tate and Excel Hardy certainly did. Take a look at the numbers and Minnoy was better than Wright in almost every statistical category (Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals) with both teams playing an equally tough schedule.

Just an opinion...
