A better idea than butter is peanut oil. Most brownie recipes call for oil, not butter, and peanut oil gives them a great flavor.

However, cooking the weed for just a little while isn't good enough.

Find a small oven-safe container, like a little Pyrex dessert dish or something. Put the weed in there and grind it up into very fine particles - I have a nice wooden spice grinder thing where you smash the spices up - I don't know what it's called. Then, add the amount of oil the recipe calls for and stir well. Put the container in an oven set at 300 ( I prefer my toaster oven), and let the oil/weed mix cook for about 3 hours. And also be sure your oven isn't too hot. The weed will burn. It'll still work, but the brownies will taste bitter. Your house will smell like weed! Be careful in an apartment building!

After 3 hours let the oil cool and follow the rest of the directions on the box.

You can use about a skinny joint less than an eighth this way, and you'll get VERY f*%ked up. A 9x9 pan normally makes 16 brownies, but you can cut them even smaller, like 25 or 30, and they will definitely still have enough to get you high.
