First to enter the room is Dargle, a Jorfi female in her prime. Four elephanteen feet make neary a sound on her centaur like body. thick fur, apsent only from her head and scorpian tail, eleminates the need for clothing. great fangs glisten in the light. A very heavy steel chain is in one grizzly like paw and she yanks it hard
***
Seth fell face forward, flat on his stomache. If Dargle was a centaur, he is a satyre. the lower body is that of a mamoth, his upper body that of a grizzly bear. His thick neck is incased in a giant choke collar with cruel metal spikes that dig in to his flesh with every pull. The fur is missing from the area around the collor and many scars and cuts gather there as well. he has a corocidilian head with great ram's horns and in his sharp eyes is a feel of great intelligance swamped by instinct.
***
Dargle leads them both to the bar and in a great deep voice orders, "Two shots of your strongest drink." Seth releases a serie of sharp clicks and trills. Dargle turns and looks at the other with disgust, "Watch you language, Seth!" she threatens the choke collar. "And a bowl of meat, the bloodier the better."
***
"Frilling wench!" cries Seth as they wait, "Why do I have to have stupid collar on?!"
"Please, last time I removed it you ate thirteen beings and did unmentionable things to the females in the vacinity."
"I won't this time, I swear!"
"You either were the collar or I kill you, your choice."
Seth shuts up after that comment.
(sorry for the dramatics, but seth is rather large nucance when left alone to his own devices... Possible future conflict!)

Enters. -- Collie, 16:07:49 08/26/02 Mon
Steps up to the old kaoreoke machine. She, who had placed it in the tavern, so long ago. Turning it on, she begins to sing in a rough, but feminie voice.
Hypothetically if I killed you
could you forgive me and
the things that I construe
I'm not all the brainsick
But you don't believe
Devil's walking stick
Well in your eyes am I some child
Can't you just ignore
When I am wild
I'll only bloody my own face
And I'll banish myself
Leave in disgrace
In my eyes I can't remember
Why you stung
Rather than defend her
I'm a product of your alibis
The acid words
That makes me die
Control your rage
And you could
lock me in any cage
Well in your eyes am I some child
Can't you just ignore
When I am wild
I'll only bloody my own face
And I'll banish myself
Leave in disgrace
In my eyes I can't remember
Why you stung
Rather than defend her

/Search\ -- Gutadrae, 22:14:24 08/15/02 Thu
A palely-golden creature pauses outside the entrance, before a nasty kick to the door slams the wooden contraption open, nearly off its sturdy hinges. Grinning -he can open doors!- the adolescent saunters in, icy blue eyes flickering around the Tavern's few occupants. A quiet sigh indicates that he's reached the end of the scent trail... if that Shaekara-type Guardian isn't here, she's nowhere on Terole. Not spotting anyone small, bipedal, and blue currently inside, the Korat bites back a growl. Traitorous scum, to leave when Terole needs you... although by all indications, she's been gone for several months, considering how old the scent is. But there's always hope. As a waiter passes, Gu coils his tail around the alien's ankle and stops him. "If you see Shaekara, the Sylpha, tell her she is to report to the Den immediately. We are at war and all Guardians are called to action." Having completed his message, the male releases the waiter, turns, and leaves... himself headed for the Den.

"This place really hasn't changed at all..." Kerdar mutters before she sits down by the bar and orders something to drink. A'yka disregards her sour comment, so much like her attitude since he'd decided to drop their other mission and lie low here for the time being. His sharp looking eyes scan across the Tavern, wondering if there were any familiar faces to see.

*The grey Dracai lumbered in from the Expanse, wounds still not healed from the battle on Lavana. It's only been a few days, Taio, remember that. He grumbles to himself mentally. Wounds, in the mindset of Taio, may add character but they sure are a pain in the tail, literally. The tip of one of his tail-scythes was broken off, and would not grow back for quite a while. Heaven forbid I get into another battle before I recover. He thought as he took a seat by a table. When a waiter swished by to ask what he wanted, he closed his eyes for a moment.* Anything Anyanan.. if possible. Tigeroot Ale would be grand, though even on Anyana it's hard to come by. *He shrugs and the waiter swished off, to fetch the Dracai a drink. In the meantime Taio rests his head on the table and sighs.*

How many times had she sat by this fire, talking to Collie and her friends? Collie was gone, she had heard. She suddenly shivered and hugged herself, pulling blue furry knees up to her white chest.
"It's true," she sighs. "You can never go home again."

Being only around three feet tall, she dug her sharp claws into one of the stools to hoist herself up, and then turned to the barkeeper.
"Dyone! Feel as though all my wits have abandoned me and left me sitting on my esh. Just give me the strongest you have...," she said, moaning from her monstrous headache.
Her two tails whipped around anxiously as she waited for a drink to relieve the pounding in her head.

But how do I get a drink? *She tried to remember what she did at the restaurant she had gone to before she began living in the woods back on her home planet. *A screech, a yell, a thud, and a much louder crash....* -- Kleymu and Banretin, 09:34:01 11/18/01 Sun
*...Before the door swings open, a half-grown Korat attached to the outside by claw and blade. Seeing the way to a drink clear, he sheathes his claws and leaps... coming to a quick halt as his tail blade, still sunk in wood, stops him short. He yelps, loudly. A few curses muttered from outside can be heard before a feline, brightly colored with pine green fur, deep red points, and aqua mane, tail tuft, and eyes, stumbles to her feet. "Banretin, I swear..." The Xenne knocks her companion's tail loose and he shoots forward, sending several chairs flying and nearly tipping over a table. Unlike most Korats, this little male is striped, deep russet markings over a pale cream hide, marking him as... different. Kleymu shakes off various things-found-in-dark-alleys from her paws and fur, and follows the cub, mentally groaning at the mess and apologizing to those cretts she passes. Banretin, however, has no concern over such manners and hops up on the bar. "Wanna DRINK!" he orders, sitting down and twitching his tail... trying to look haughty. It doesn't work, although his tail blade does manage to upset a bowl of cream nearby. Looking alarmed, Kley bounds to the bar, rearing up to rest both forepaws around the male. "Um, sorry..." she apologizes to the Aya, looking sheepish. "A drink," she snaps at the waiter, "Water." The bowl is set down and Banretin practically drowns himself in it, successfully soaking both Kley's forearms and half of himself, not to mention the bar.*

He took another sip of it, calming his nerves, from what by now he had forgot, settling back an odd smile crossed his lips, and it seemed the liquid was seeping up to his head. Then a sudden explosion of warmth made him grin again, making him care free, happy. No not drunk, not all out, but something in the drink brightened his spirits. Chuckling quietly to himself he pushed his chair away form the table and left the Tavern, grinning, all the way...

I never thought there was pure love for this girl,
I was walking disilusioned in an illusory world,
Everybody dancing, hidden, in a masquerade,
Showing selves they dress up only for parade,
I thought of hidden motives in every smiling face,
Each competing ever in some silly human race.
No one really loved you, it was physical desire,
They called it purifying, that hot, destructive fire.
I felt lost and alone, wondered if I should give in,
But, my ideals were realized when you got under my skin.
I found true love, I've found love pure!
Finally a soul, with whom, mine ever can endure!
The illusory world of masks and phantoms fade away,
When I'm dancing in your arms, I know, pure love has found a way.
It took me up to now to know, 'til now to realize,
That there could be a blessed fire burning in love's eyes,
Untainted by the fools of men, untouched by unclean things,
Only filled with purest longing, and the joy it brings,
Oh blessed love that I have found, a dream within a dream,
At last a heart that beats with mine, as loving as it seems.
I look back upon that world I knew, the lust and all the greed,
And now upon the world I know. Oh, I have won indeed!
I found true love, I've found love pure!
Finally a soul, with whom, mine ever can endure!
The illusory world of masks and phantoms fade away,
When I'm dancing in your arms, I know, pure love has found a way . . .
When I'm dancing in your arms, I know, pure love has found a way . . .
I know, love has found a way . . .

A stranger walks in and takes a seat not to far from the hunched up Shaekara. It is obvious there has been a battle,or a war. She sighs and orders a drink. She has many wars, and will see many more. But the caring these friends felt for each other is obvious. She starts humming Lavender's Blue to herself and tries to count all wars she has seen as a traveler. 1...2...3...4.........

Shaekara comes back in and sits at a table. She waves off any waiter who approaches, preferring to sit and think. Suddenly she collapses on to her folded arms, sobbing. So many of her old friends . . . it seemed nearly all of them . . . were gone. She supposed them to be casualties of the war. Gone, she hadn't seen Selan or Loafer, or any of them. Racking sobs shake her small frame, her wings quiver tremulously against her sides, and the tears come down. -- Shaekara, 00:57:54 08/06/01 Mon

Her little rag-tag crew that calls themselves the Sons Of Liberty were all resting soundly at the greenroom inn, but she could not sleep. Not yet. She had one more thing to do. She walks up to the stage, adjusts the mike and begins to sing: -- Shaekara, 14:16:53 08/02/01 Thu
Perhaps in other distant lands, in other worlds so far away,
Places that look brighter and more new,
Happy seem the people there, as they live day to day,
But do they know what they're livin' for, as we do?
Our lands were watered by the blood of many who stood strong,
So that on that land freedom may ever bloom,
So that for the crett and countrybeast who may come here to be,
Safe from tyrrany - might find room.
We won't forget those friends who stood and fought by our side,
We won't forget the strength of valient hearts,
We won't forget the faces of those friends who died,
For each is still with us - in part . . .
Stand strong for your freedom, stand strong for the good,
That our brothers gave so much for us to claim,
Never let the spirit die, or take for granted what is ours,
Never let yourselves forget the names.
'Cause we know what we're livin' for! That thing for which friends died,
It is nothing less than freedom, and the right of beasts to be,
And if ever I forget that, oh shameful be the day!
Because those cretts who died all died for me!
They died for all of us who yet would be . . .
They died for freedom . . . now live for it . . . will we!

**She enters, wincing slightly. She flops downon the couch, still there and in one peice. A mass of dust comes up from it's cloth. She coughs and stands up. She rights the over turned kareoke machine. She kicks it with her talons, and music starts to drift from the machine outside. She smiles. Then, looks about the rest of the Tavern...It survived pretty good, considering the circumstances. She looks up through a large hole in the ceiling. She sighs...**
