I made a discovery when I opened ASTB this morning at a random page (which I am want to do - amongst my friends we simply refer to 'the book', such is its importance). Anyway, here goes:

Morrissey - Come Back to Camden (2004)

"Your leg came to rest against mine, Then you lounged with knees up and apart
And me and my heart, we knew, We just knew, For evermore"

Jamie O'Neill, At Swim, Two Boys

p316: The notion hadn't formed before Doyler's leg came to rest
against his own.
p311: He lay back, chewing on grass. The way he lounged he had his
knees up and wide apart.

that's interesting! Me and a freind were trying to work out if Morrissey was gay. It seems crashingly obvious to me but the media think it's 'ambiguous' I think...

Yes, but the media used to think Liberace was straight!!!

You only have to look at The Smiths' lyrics - Each one of them can be dismissed as 'ambiguous' by itself, but the total body of work leaves no doubt. For those who know, the lyrics of There Is A Light That Never Goes Out, These Things Take Time, This Charming Man, How Soon Is Now (especially the middle 8)are totally unambiguous. Every gay man/boy will know what these songs are about.

Some people conjectured that The Smiths broke up because Morrissey and Marr could no longer sustain their relationship.
