Well, I can't speak for the others, but for me playing with the Knack IS my spare time. What I do these days is, believe it or not, compose musical theatre, specifically musical comedy. What a lot of people would call "Broadway shows", except of course getting to Broadway actually is pretty tough. I'm the composer, my writing partner is the lyricist, and we have another partner who wrties the book, which is what they call the script in musicals. It's a life about as different from rock and roll as can be, but it's a ton of work and even more fun. Plus, nobody's doing it worth a shit these days, and I'd like to change that.
