Right now my email is not making a connection so I hope you return to read this.
First a few things about spells:
You can only be affected by a spell if you are open to being affected by it. Spells work on our psyche and if we think we are cursed, then we are.
Your boyfriend is confused and fiddling with his own emotions which in turn fiddles with yours. If he really loved you as you hope he does, then he will not have conflicting feelings about his old flame. Simple as that. You are feeding off of his confusion and basically, the spell you both are feeling is all in your minds.
Again, no spell can affect you if you are not open to it affecting you. Think of it as prayer, prayer helps and hurts if people are open to it helping or hurting. All a spell is is a form of prayer. In reality, the barrier is because there is something else between the two of you that needs to be resolved - most likely his feelings of the old girl friend. Once he gets over her and her out of his life totally, he can commit to you IF he is ready. he may not be ready to commit and using this as a excuse to keep a distance between you.
Now, with spells, since they work on our minds and our emotions and open us up to being able to work through our problems, still you can only cast a spell on someone with their permission or on yourself. Casting a spell on your boyfriend without him knowing is going against the Wiccan rede - what if he deep down does not want to fully separate from the other girl or is ready to fully commit to you? You would be going against what he may subconsciously want. You can do a spell for yourself to help you break down whatever mental barrier you feel between the two of you. But honestly, if the boy is not ready for full commitment to you, it will fail. the two of you can do a protection spell over the two of you, but again, if he truly does not want it, it will not work. I honestly think you two may need to stop thinking witchcraft and start thinking is he ready and able to give you what you want and deserve regardless of the other girl? If not, nothing you do will influence that. And if it does, it may not influence the way you hope. Spells can be tricky like that.
Now, if you still need a spell to help boost your inner strength (and they are good for that!) Here you go to get started:
The strongest spells come from within us and not from a book or someone else. The spell MUST be heartfelt and not generically made by another. You can create your own chant/rhyme/mantra to help proect and get you in the mind set NOT to be affected by the other girl.

Note, they do not have to rhyme but rhymes and chants are easy to remember.
You can simply ask the God and Goddess to help strengthen you mentally without a chant or rhyme.
Also note, various sites and such may give different interpretations to colors and such as well as herbs - most are pretty much the same, but if you researchwhat I am giving you, you may find variations.
There are various protection herbs. I am listing the easy ones to get:
Anise Seed
Basil
Bay Leaf
Cinnamon
Clove
Dill
Echinacea (will help strengthen spells)
Garlic (but also has lust properties so I would consider NOT using it for you)
Lavender
Peppermint (love, healing, psychic powers, purification, sleep)
Rosemary (again, this has lust properties as well so maybe avoid it)
Take a cleansing shower and sea salt scrub (helps purify - you can use regular salt or epsom salts if needed). Put some of the herbs above (go for the ones that smell nice together) in a cheese cloth bag (grocery stores carry cheesecloth, cut a square and use a few layers as some herbs may seep out). Gather the herbs in the cloth and tie in a bundle with a purple ribbon (purple helps with power, health and meditation, opens psychic powers). Steep the bag in a hot bath and get in.
Around the bath you can burn various candle colors that correspond with protection and banishing negativity.
White (protection and purity)
Black (banish negativity - black also absorbs so will help you bring in and hold your thoughts - black is not a color of evil unless we want it to be).
Blue (peace, happiness, health).
Now just lay with soft music (NO LYRICS JUST MUSIC) and meditate on building your own defenses and hardening yourself to the influences of the outside person. Again, do not try and will the boyfriend to become closer to you as that is against the Wiccan Rede. But meditate about you not being affected by the old girlfriend and how you can become more in tune with the right person for you (anyone - does not have to be this guy as it sounds as if he may not deep down be ready for you).
